Hey VP, it aint worth leaving over, after all we are just a bunch of alphanumeric characters on here, there are some people that will get on others nerves here and make ya mad, but look at it this way. You dont have to put up with 'em in real life, if ya turn off ya screen they dissapear, ya got a lot to contribute here your works great, but if ya decide to go, good luck in whatever ya do.

Sorry to see you go VP. I can understand how some TCPIP people can be frustrating, mostly because you cant reach across the internet and smack them when they all but beg for it. I have no love for him either but I figure he will change or leave, and so it goes. Isnt there a BBS program with an 'ignore' feature? Maybe we can get you some peril senstive suglasses adjusted to black out when certain people post... Just take some time, cool your head and maybe when you get the urge to peek back in the problem will have resolved itself.

I've seen several old members retiring and then coming back, so I don't really know how to take this... For now, I hope you're just taking a break. You will be missed either way.

vp: I'm saddened to hear this and I do hope it is a temporary leave of absence (I do quite like Wakkos' idea though).

I also hope that some people have learned that their actions actually have consequences - you just aren't spewing these words out into a void there are actually people here. Most of us are here to learn and discover new things (and blow of a little steam occasionally - although some people seem more focus on the latter which could do with changing) and they don't want to have to waste their precious time running around cleaning up after people who seem not to be able to understand some very basic things.

I can't imagine there are many people here who's intention it is to ruin the Asylum but there are people certainly going about things in a way that could bring the walls down.

So what do we do? Sit around bitching and whining or lead by example.

So:

1. Make a sig - Suho1004 has come up with a great topic this month.

2. Get involved in the RP - it looks to be an interesting one this week.

3. Review a site.

4. Get invovled in the 5k challenge down in the HTML forum.

5. Drop into one of the other 'work' forums and do something constructive/creative.

I honestly don't know what to say.. speechless. I haven't been around as long as most of the amazing artists we have here, but I do know who deserves respect. VP is definitely among them in my book.

Short story: you're an astounding artist VP, never forget that. I may not have said it before, but thanks for the help and inspiration. Is this really happening? It all seems so surreal (you know, I could've sworn that pill looked kinda grey...)

With that said... keep up the creativity. Hopefully I'll see you dancing down the east wing with your mop again sometime.

you'll notice that he actually posted several times on the same day he 'retired'.
and what makes it such a shame is that the vast majority of his posts on that day and those preceding were useful.
As in constructive and mature.
In-line with the original Asylum ethos.

A rarity.
In fact, his least useful, least constructive post to date is the one in this very thread.

Probably many factors which he apparently didn't feel were necessary to say, or didn't feel were our business. It's better to accept this and move on =)
