Bored? Got nothing to do? Can't build a web site to save your life let alone make a decent image?
Then rip mine! Sure wtf I don?t care - oh wait yes I do.

Right now I'm like 3 degrees from boiling point.

These guys have been up for a month or two. I was tipped off by Prox on June 7 - A guy I didn't know at the time - I mailed them, as did he and a couple others and was assured the site would be taken down. The site did in fact go down (as in disappeared, domain n all) and we thought that was the end of it.

The site has returned - full rip mode enabled ? tho I?m not sure when.

It's 100% my layout, it's 100% Asylum colours but something that really ticks me off is they've slapped their brandname right over mine - if you look you can still read 'Weadah' on their new logo. The logo - that they're branding everything in sight with it, such as WP's =(

If some of you guys have a few minutes to spare today perhaps you could fire off an email to team-zenith@team-zenith.com or go say nice things in their guestbook.
Tolerance only lasts so long ya know and they've been warned enuf.

A mate of mine had a yak to their webmaster on IRC last night - his opinion was one of 'we couldn?t care less'. Mebbe we can highlight the error in his thinking =)

That is a blatant rip and they said that they didnt care?? Someone is going to have to learn some manners. I think that we might have to point that out to them and make it a little more clear that is it not right to rip another persons hard work.

I remember seeing that the first time around. Don't recall how I found it, though. I do remember hearing that it was handled, so I didn't do anything.

What I find funny is how whomever ruined your sig, Weadah, by tacking on all that yucky stuff. Can spot the little things that don't belong from a mile away.

Sorry so long with the reply, been away. I agree with DL though.. kinda. If they're being good, taking the stuff down, not ripping someone else or something then I don't think it would further the good by posting screencaps of the bad in a public forum. Did that make sense? Eh, doesn't matter, it did to me.

I just think DL needed something else to rag about.

on that page is a folder called blackout. It opened about 15 windows all bouncing around my screen (real fast). I could not even get Windows to close them. IE eventually crashed. Not sure if it was a joke or some serious piece of crap but shit, it scared the shitten shit out of me.

Some executables in there too. The one you talked about looks like a javascript that just opens the same window over and over and over. If you turn java off you can see the source. Kinda looks like they might have had their own design at some point too. Colors look strangely familiar though. Seems iGrafx is their graphics tool, never heard of it till just now. Learn something new every day. Thanks for link, it was briefly entertaining.

While the colors strongly resemble these, you can't say that they are unique to Doc. The particular hues are somewhat less common, but orange/blue color schemes abound....

Trigger: Interesting question. Technically you can't copyright individual words but once you put them together in a certain fashion then they become copyrightable. Some of the bigger cases of pirated sites:

Trigger: All good points and on its own I don't think the use of a set of colours would be something someone would unleash the lawyers for but if there were other things involved (like layout for example) I suspect you'd be able to find a corporate lwayer who'd be happy to try that in a court of law. The colours and how they are used are an extremely important aspect of corporate (or any other kind) identity. If you were looking to pass your site off as a more successful competitor the colour scheme would be one of the first things you'd try and mimic.

Its an interesting question but possibly one that doesn't have a simple answer.

Yah, I think ya'll just need to let this one go.

After all, I've copied colour schemes from other sites before. The layout it's even vaugly similar and the overall site is but ugly cause the reds and yellows aren't ballenced by the blue background doc uses.

It's over. They got their own site. yah so they copied some colours... big deal, their just a bunch of net kids. Go eat some ice-cream and be happy already.
