velvetrose: That quote was referring to what price a depot was buying hardware at (and how much), I believe. When you find depots like that, you nudge them into sectors with planets and then autoscoop them to make loads of money... yummy, indeed.

I told him he was in trouble and he moved but then they I found out they had a HD on him and dropped a note in here (previous thread) and via ICQ to tell him to scrape it and move again but he didn't log back in in time. However, while flying past his location in an attempt to catch some of their ships I did kill a couple - not much compensation as Bulldozer was highly ranked at that time but.....

Due to rather unsubtle naming policies (#cough# Raptor #cough#) Iron Knight has rumbled the connections between team OZN and GTD which might cause us really problems as things wind down. Tey are still trying to cause a fight between us so don't even think of destorying any of team WHY or YEP's stuff

Heh, this is getting kinda interesting, lol. Thanks for the transcript of that conversation I like that we're giving them this much trouble (after only playing for a few weeks)... Perhaps we should try this again (learning from our mistakes of course, haha, ie. finding a better galaxy, scraping HDs, trading, etc. etc.).

According to a certain someone the Horde have finished with all but the large members of team WHY and the OZN is next on the list. So we need to get trading and build up fighters and I think our other teams need to draw some fire off team OZN (they must have stretched themselves a little thin with team WHY and they can't really take on too many more teams. So scout around and if you see them pass on any information and we'll see what we can do. If the other members of team GTD would get their ships out of hospital and trade them up to strength then we could certainly use them too.

Any other thoughts, information, etc.?

I had a feeling that was going to come back and bite us in the rear...

I've been gradually building up my forces... I'm up to 20k fighters guarding my lvl 20 bunker under my lvl 8 starbase. I figure when they come after me they will have to take out my starbase first, which will hopefully give me enough time to scurry elsewhere. Having the bunker, though, means that I pretty much have to stay in the galaxy we are currently in...

Actually, you can warp your planet (bunker and all) anywhere you choose. It's the starbase that your stuck with (you only get half your money back when you downgrade it).

However, what we might consider is leaving most of our starbases there (on auto-attack), downgrade a few, and move ourselves elsewhere (with your bunker if you have one) and stock up on fighters. I'll start on some stuff after class tonight.

If anyone finds out any locations of any of the Hordes ships, several names are mentioned in the transcript Emps posted, let us all know so we can try and shoot first with the ships we want, to try and save OZN.

LF: I like your thinking - we wouldn't even need to change to attack starbases we just reel in the fighters, drop a temp wormhole somewhere and all disappear.

However, I think if we find some more Horde ships and BOB ones we can cause them enough bother to really upset them. I have 10s of thousands of fighters in different teams which I can use to drop on any bunker but we need to find them

on a funnier note....that IAA team that chudzta and I hit last week...well he was on today....whining. he wasn't very impressed at all. and he was trying really hard to build his stuff back up....and when the feeding frenzie started over the WHY ships, he got in on it....and he was sitting there in his ship and i found him.....so i blew him up! while he was in it!! LMAO he was REALLY not happy about that. i couldn't help it....i HAD to blow him up. it was really shitty...but i have to say it was one of the funniest things i've done on there! i'm sure i've got loads of bad karma coming my way LOL

added: also, i think that we should use the FRA and GTD teams to take out HGI and YEP. that way it draws the fire from those teams....and just keep OZN on the move... that's just my thoughts on it anyways.

Hi Kids. Nothing big today for me. Just building up fighters and taking out everything i see. Just a warning at 16808 IAA (BROWN WIDOW) had a starbase and a ship... i took out both. I have about 40K worth of fighters on my MAG team, that are looking for revenge. I know that it might not be the 130K that LAX has but I am sure I could deal some amount of damage, just point me in the correct direction. That attack dropped me from 96th place down to 300 and something, knocking me way out of the top 15% which was not very nice.

Thats because they were killed, and had to start over. (You don't lose all your levels when that happens, just 25%)

that explains why velvet went from merchant 1 to minion after 2 kills

but, as you can see it's not by much, and if the horde has anything to say about it...it won't be for long either. they apparently know where we have a bunker...but wouldn't tell me. they said that they don't want me to do it because "i'm not ready"....i'm assuming this is because they think you guys are VETS LOL it's either that....or they are onto me LOL....either way...this really fucks me and us as a group.....

they introduced me to a higher up guy today......the mittens guy.....and he's a bit stand-offish with me....told me he was "checkin me out". i don't know what he is doing to check me out...i think the only way i can be truly found out is with the IP addy....but i don't think he could check those...but i could be wrong.....he did ask how i connected to the net and such though. i dunno....makes me nervous anyways

i'm saving my wrath for the horde

Well, the only thing I ran into today is another one of Kirellii's stupid level 1 starbases in 29580. I've also been scraping my hull regularly and my spies haven't seen anyone but friendly ships in my bunker sector... so I'm guessing (hoping?) it's not my bunker they're talking about. I don't really want to abandon my starbase, but if I've got to move I've got to move.

Haven't changed my strategy much... still trading, building up fighters (up to 21k), and generally trying not to piss anyone off. Apparently, though, just being on OZN is enough to piss off a lot of people...

[Edit: or maybe I should just downgrade the starbase and make as many fighters as I can, and then move my bunker... oh, I hate this...]

Curious but it seems that switching my Starbase to attack mode was enough to earn me several thousand reputation points (although defeating an assailant or two seems to have helped).

So, I conclude from my experiment that building a reasonably sized starbase and leaving around 4,000 ships around it is a good idea?

Shame I can't remember which sector it's in... damit!

Dufty: You got the reputation points from the fighters you lost in the process of destroying the intruders. An attack-oriented starbase is a good way to do this, and it is also a good way to make sure that people will seek out and destroy your base as soon as they get word of it.

Now I have to go check and make sure I'm still alive...

[Edit: Yup, still alive. I guess having 21k fighters guarding a lvl 20 bunker under a lvl 8 starbase helps... but if a team really wants to kill me they will. I figure I can make 4k+ fighters from the money I would get from downgrading the starbase (if I'm calculating correctly, which I'm probably not). Just not sure if that's the best decision right now. I sure hope someone with the necessary savvy shows up and advises me before they find and kill me...]

OK this is for team OZN we are cashing everything in and moving out.

Suho1004 will find us a location in the same galaxy and let us know we'll then cash everything in and move there, create a temporary wormhole to a new galaxy (preferably one that is a nightmare to scout) and we'll drop through and set up a base there.

Hopefully we should have so many fighters it will make things difficult for them to attack us and I have 100k in other teams if anyone spots the Horde. It seems they want Icarus Falls and so we might be able to draw some heat. more later....

[edit: Spoke to Sharund and the Star ships are run by the same person as is Tyranid Hive so keep an eye out for that]

And make yourself stealth - although you can be seen if someone stumbles in on you when you are logged off the important thing is that scouts (the only effective way they can search for you) cannot see you if you are logged out. This also means that sticking around a planet with a bunker on draws more attention to us so we can't hide with any of you with bunkers.

Any suggestions for a bolthole? I'm thinking a dead end in some galaxy so there is no traffic through and we can clear out the adjacent areas

OK lacuna has given me a list of dead ends bolt holes - I've picked one at random drop me a line via ICQ (just in case) but people with bunkers or non-stealth ships will have to go elsewhere or they will draw attention to us and as WarMage has said - 'Get scraped'!!!

I'll scout that venue and then we can get temporary wormhole going to drop us into that galaxy.

[edit: I'd also recommend people leave 17142 as it is being attacked I believe]
