Get kids.

Just wanted to get a few ideas and impressions from this new logo I've developed for a company called CaterCity. They've been absolutely one of the most difficult clients I've ever worked with, and they have no right to be so damned polite about it. Hehe

here is the image. keep in mind that he wanted a stylized look and wanted to combine the ideas of the "swoosh," the city scape and silverware. My job was cut out for me.

i completely understand the value of having a company's logo being simple and whatnot...

but i just don't think i like it.

maybe it's the font.. or the layout.. or it's just too simple without any part being really strong.

what does your client think?

I think its Ok. Maybe if you made the blue a little stronger...I dont know how..but stronger. And the font....def change the font. Maybe something like and sans serif. I dont know.

Just my 1 cents woth. (I know...not worth 2 cents)

I dig it. The I'm not sure about the green letters. The font is fine but maybe the color could change. Other than that I think it rocks. Simple and to-the-point. Exactly what a logo should be. It would look good on a billboard, a shirt or letterhead.
If Cater City doesn't like it, tell 'em to piss off. (No offence, Mikey)
Nice job Twitch.

I like it. I don't think for a company in that field you want a much stronger blue color. I mean, they are caterers, pastel-ish colors seem well suited for that to me.

I like the design as well. Very simple and stylish.

Actually, I like the logo a lot. Its simple and cool to look at. Although I think you should make it a tad smaller ...

I like the blue skyline, I used a similar design for an Estate Agent recently. I think pastel colours work well for a catering company, and simple two colour would obviously work well in print etc. I'm just not sure about the green writing. The font doesn't seem to fit (not sure what it needs, something a little special, but still very readable) and is there any other colour other thatn green? Would a darker shade of blue be too obvious?
Anyway overall great work, I like it.

I think the logo is very good but I would try to make it smallest and with another one colour, for example yellow-oranged.
I think it would gives more life to the logo.

in general I like it... perhaps the Font could be different and maybe a bit more emphasis on the fork ?.. I like the city scape alot...

when you say logo, I am presuming you mean for the web but also for stationary also?.. I think it would look good on business cards and letter heads etc..

nice job

I agree with changing the font to a San Serif. It would add to the Stylized effect and make the logo a little more avant gard. Also I would suggest changing the color of the font to a warmer color. Blues and greens are hard colors to match and making the font a warmer color would allow it to stand out from the sky line.

Finally, I feel that the sky line needs something. I'm not sure what. Maybe a horizon line... a drop shadow.... Try putting a very small blue bird in the upper left white space. I don't know. something.

All-in-all I like the logo, and most of my suggestions are just a matter of personal taste.

Thanks kids, for boosting my ego!

In response to certain questions...

The colors are taken directly from the web site that my firm also developed for him (complete ordering online--complete bitch). Unfortunately, at the time of that development, we were working with a logo that another firm developed for him--once he saw and approved the web site, he decided that the logo that he had paid for previously sucked rocks and wanted another one. THe font is the same deal; it's a similar one (diff. kerning etc) to the one used on the web site.

To address the outrageous size of the image, keep in mind that it's at 600dpi on my machine, and I wanted it as big as possible so he could see all the minutiae.

But thanks, everyone, for your critiques. This is an awfully big client. Cheers.

Weadah, I love you! I'm not wanting to piss you off, but you've shown me that even the most perfect user of photoshop makes mistakes! (if not, then atleast one of the best sigmakers.) Here's the critique to the 'nimraw' Sig:
Bad font, too pixely. w/ some fonts losing the antialiasing it worx great, but not with this'un.
Colors: AARGH! a double spectrum! yuck.
the overall seems a little blurred. But with a kinda pixely skateboard. Again yuck.
