We have done so.

I would say that you probably didn't it quite smooth enough on the guassian blur/levels steps. Go back and redo it and be really careful on that step and that should fix the jaggies.

As for realism, the water looks like its sitting on top of empty space with a big lens flare behind it. (I know its not a lens flare, thats just what it looks like.) Try giving yourself more of a background image to be distorted.

Work on those highlights and low lights a bit too. Make them stand out a bit more. Your drops kinda look a little flat right now.

It's cheating because it's a layer style (6.0), but a very good one. Had to show.

Not style #6. PS version 6. If you have 6.0, I can give you settings, but you may want to customize based on your image size.

Lemme know.

The only problem I can see that hasn't already been discussed is the water droplets you have there. Water would tend to bead up a lot more than what you've got pictured and there would be more convex rounded shapes.

I had the same problem my first time through that tute. You just have to keep tweaking the clouds channel to get the drop effect just right.

*blushes*

I wish could take credit for this one, but I can't. If I can get together a tutorial, I will.
I work in print-solely. I have no web pages, though I did finally snag some web space and am trying to build a page, and someday a site. I'll put some graphics up there when I get it up.

I appreciate your interest, and BTW, phrases like "very good graphic artist" when referring to myself simply don't sit well in my stomach.

Loonies love trucks.

here's my entry. Of course, it's cheating because I used an actual rainstorm.

I had this picture lying on my harddrive. It is not my creation, but just something I had saved for reference in case I ever wanted some inspiration on how to make waterdrops look real.

Sorry, InI, it's a photograph. I was headed to work, and I had my camera on me. Even though it was raining, I stopped to grab the iamage of the iris with the drops covering it because it seemed like a really beautiful and ephemeral moment. Plus I wnated to see how well the macro feature worked.

Edit: there's a big fat worm in the lower left corner. Eeeeewww.
