A good try! but a drop of water.... lessee....
http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/droplets.html this tutorial explains a bit about splashed water, maybe you could get some info from there.... I'd say go with the lighting effects filter, combined with some blending mode work... wait, I had some thing about water a while back... lemme see. Back in a minute.

Edit: damn, I sworn I saved it.... sorry, can't find it.

I like it... but the shadow under it makes it look like a clear pear sitting on a blue table.
and if you wanna get technicle there is always a very tiny round droplet of water that follows the tail.

Just a fact of nature, if you slow down a drop of water, it's not actually the teardrop shape, but rather a perfect sphere...

Well, if you want to get that technical HS, it's actually not a perfect sphere, but similar to one.

Probably usually a "bumpy ellipse."

Hmm... got me thinking...

Your rain drop has a very plastic look too it. I'm really not sure what you could do to fix it. Maybe a background that was spherized behind the drop. Also I dont think that shadow is helping much either. Hmmm was that any help?

The only thing I can think of to help is this. . .

I've just been studying some water droplets on the floor at work and it seems to me that all the reflections and highlights are really crisp and focused. Yours seem to be more blurred. I wonder if sharpening things up might help?

Ya i was thinking that too.I think for my next try im going to make the highlight's smaller and use displacement on the background.hopefuly that will make a more realiistic effect.

I find the shadow under the drop rather amusing.... as if the drop is not really a drop but.... it is.... as it stands there.... it cant be.

NICE! That really makes it jump off the page
I like it, though I would have made the reflection highlight on the left a little more transparent and/or smaller.

I agree with MalFunkShun, I think that the reflection is a bit too bold. Tone that down a little and I think you'll have a nice looking drip. Nice work.
