Preserved Topic: think its time for a tutorial link thread? (Page 1 of 1)

I see some new users (like me) coming on this board with some pretty common questions, some that even I can answer. The request for tutorial links comes up a lot. Maybe if people here participate, we can put these links on one thread, and

• either post a link to the thread with all the tut's when someone asks
• or archive them and make a button or something for them

sounds like a great idea

especially since most of the people that are giving out the links have actually done the tutorials and benefited from them.
Nowadays I find a heck of a lot of links are useless, say one thing but then send us to other sites with junk (probably making money off our click throughs)...

Maruman, nice tutorials, I think they thread is helping me out more then anyone After we get a good collection, we can get out the whips and have one of the new moderators archive these in some way for us.

The second changes monthly and has some good archives.

I think a FAQ would be helpfull, mabye at the top of the photoshop forum page with links to tutorials or threads that have covered the common questions. I would guess that just going back through the two pages that are avaliable here one could be developed.

We really don't need "tuts" (urgh I said the 'T' word, sorry maX)
As long as we have MS that are willing to explain everything, it might help to have a FAQ on things that people as about code,graphics, and such and then leave the hard stuff for the MS to answer.
Just my 2 cents, can I get c h a n g e ?

Playing with tutorials is a great way for people to learn different methods and explore for themselves. To hound the gurus with simple questions for things that are already found on the web, seems...I don't know, like a waste of time. Just my opinion. FWIW.

I looked threw the faq archive last night. Didn't really look like there was much information in there. I think it should be more of a specific question format, with answers, rather then a collection of threads. Plus, I had trouble even finding it. Like my first question, what are channels? then If I remembered vp's responce, I would of typed it...

i agree with gix. but now here is another question: how do i deepedge hair? i remember seeing a tutorial for it a while back, but i can't recall where. there is a special technique to it and involves fiddling with the levels and curves.

i'd really appreciate any help.
