I know some of us are always looking for free stock photos and I came across a great place that I wanted to share in case it hasn't been posted before. It's free and some really good images.

Sorry, but no, not free. Free comps, yeah, so I guess you could use the photos just for playing around if you can get rid of the photodisc watermark thingy. But certainly not free for professional use. I used PhotoDisc in my previous job at a graphic design company. PhotoDisc pictures are expensive, single images are anywhere from 30 to 180 bucks depending on the resolution you need. We would show the comps to the clients and ask them if they wanted the photos used with the understanding the cost would be on their bill.
Free good stock photos are indeed hard to come by ...

mm i found a good stock photo site that really was free, for none commercial use, pics had no watermarks or anything, except i lost the url when i installed win2k, all i can remeber is it was a uk addy, i think i found the link on computerarts or computercreative, cant remeber

It's a resource site that me and some others set up just for sharing and providing photo-material to webdesigners. It is totally free, and the pics can be used for private AND commercial jobs.

The idea is based on ppl contributiong images for others to use freely in order to be able to do that themselves.

Stock photos can be nice I guess... I like photography though, so taking my own photos is much more enjoyable.
