For the people that were asking, I really hate to disappoint, but the "texture" was painted on. I ran a slight displace on it afterwards, just to make sure anything that seemed flat ran betteron her contours, but yeah...just paintbrush and airbrush aside from that.

Great work everybody....but Wead..come on man, that jaw looks soft....slacker.

Ok now Im confused, did you really handbrush that "marble" texture?? -I mean all the holes and the colors?

If you did DG, I bet you must have some sort of tip or small procedure on how to brush like _that_

PS. Well of course Im sure it would help to attend art lessons...but I want to learn the Photoshop way

Punisher, there aren't really that many colours. I used a soft umber tone, as well as two shades of red, and then some greys through most of it. As for painting "holes" it's just highlight and shadow around a coloured area. Also the red "cross" over her face is a separate layer, as well are some of the brighter highlights.

I never espouse art school, as I wouldn't know a thing about it..I've never taken an art class...but learning to paint is the same with anything, it's all about colour, tone, and brushes. Sorry man, but that's the "Photoshop way" too.

Pay attention to Weadah, he'll help you with the ways of the force, I'm sure. We've all said a ton of times here "If you want to paint it, go look at it, and recreate what you see in PS." It's really just that simple. No filters needed...just brush away.

As mentioned though, I cheated a bit with displacement.

Hehe Shiiizzzam, I guess Im the one who should be asking (me beeing the newbie and all)...but as far as I can tell...well looks like some cropping, adjustmentlayers, curves, a handwrite font and another picture

I actually do have a question: Did you use a T1 og TT font

Well, I won't bore you with how I did it...that would make me have to take you all down for a treatment in the basement

The font I used is Carpenter.

Wead, the lower right side of her face is... kinda funny... there... Other than that... Sweet stuff... she fits in with that background really naturally. I know what it is... her chin is just a little to big. Ah well... W0W.

DG, that texture is insane, when i first say it i thought it was some other texture layered over and touched up... that is some friggin detail.

I really like your third one, Minkies, but that's because I'm always a sucker for well-poured type. I also like the folding-blind masking on the face. I'd say the same thing about the fourth, but whenever I see a portion of text that's a different color, I always look for the hidden message, and in this case, the message is "ILDRE."
