loose the yellow and your done.

"Thorpe" Company, I'm hoping, since that's what it looks like.

The word "Company" looks horribly cramped. There's hardly any space between it and the edge of the black box. You need to either expand the amount of black around the word, or make it flush with the edges of the box. Changing the yellow to white might look good if you chose the latter option.

Is the inconsistent AA on the left of the black box a product of vector to raster conversion?

Grum: Dunno man, I'm sure for some purposes the yellow will be gone, but I kinda like it in there.


slime: Agreed, going to pad the box a little more. As for the AA, not sure, I'll have to check into that while I'm resizing the box.

first thing that popped into my head was that i might not want to see a saw blade and the word "repair" in the same logo. Although... I *do* see where you're going with it. It may still be a debatable feature.
Yellow text is cramped. Count the pixels from the bottom of the "C" to the bottom of the black bit. You need to have that same padding at the top. At present you have the padding set up from the bottom of the "P" and "Y"..... and the eye won't take well to this.

"THORPE" isn't centered over the black either........... you lazy bitch.

Don't get rid of the yellow, just don't use that yellow. I would prefer a yellow thats a little mor "constructiony". Thats kind a lemonade stand yellow. I like the saw blade, its a nice touch. The type in used a for company is a little dated and as was said above-cramped.

You could make the T a hammer and put the O back to normal...bah....just my quick image of it. I kinda like this one too....except for the cramped company text like Slime pointed out.

You did a very good job with the logo, however like Grumble said loose the Yellow. SOmething else is you should try to bring the big black letters as close as possible for the best results, either then that its all good! gj Kretsminky!

Hi NEwKiD, by the size of your sig you look like you are new around here. We try to keep sig size down to a minimum around here both in width, height, and kb's. It would be great if you could size that down a bunch... Just wanted to catch ya b4 some one flames ya about that. heh. this is a rough bunch. good hearts.. but rough.

psst, krets, I was just kidding.

the saw blade isn't doin it for me, too circular, that's why it doesn't fit with that font at all, too much white space around it, and sqaured space instead of rectangular. The huge bullets between subjects at bottom are too huge.

Simple enough other than that, wouldn't look bad on the side of a van/truck etc after some tweakin.

Test

good:
- looks rugged and tough.
- simple design makes it easy to digest
- emphasis is assigned well on each element.
- nice font selections.
not so good:
- the circular saw looks kinda destructive to me. (michael suggested this already, perhaps)
- the 'company' looks misaligned in its black box because of the p and y.
- the black box ain't finished nicely.
- spacing on 'repair * remodeling..." just a bit too much?


love to see any revisions krets - and please do tell us what the client has to say about your submissions.
