I was starting to get bored by the style on my site, so I made a new layout. How does it look?
Completely different from what I usually do. Wanted to make something fun and colorful.

Would allso like to know if tables are alligned in NS and older browsers.

Thanks.

Heh. The colors are colors that I usually just hate, but it's kind of silly and fun, I think I like it! Mostly. The white background is too... white. We've got this plastic action toy color scheme going on here, what's white got to do with it? The little ripply bit under the gear (where it hits the white!) doesn't read too good either, seems kind of like an afterthought.

I don't know, I was looking again, the color scheme is so "not me", do I like this or not? I can't really decide. I guess a lot would depend on what kind of text and content it ends up getting, if you build this as a site, better be prepared to make some fun of yourself, this design needs some humor or it will never be appreciated.

i dont realy care for the green. it looks like youre trying for a split analogous colors scheme, but its not quite working. the green doesnt complement those shades of blue and gold.

my only other concern is that it wont allow for growth once you get into the higher resolutions.

Dear Lord is that gaudy, uncomplimentary, and loud.

I think I like it....heh.

I'm not going to use it on my site. I only made this to experiment. Thgis is so far from what i usually do. I prefer pale, clean and smooth designs. But it's good practice to try something new. Don't really know if I like it myself. Maybe to bright and colorful for my taste.

Seems like I've fallen in love here. At first i did not think I would use this, but the more I've worked on it, the more I like it. I usually get bored of my designs after a short time.

2nd link gave me a 404 error...

the 1st link -- I love it! it is very definatley not me either.....and it is certainly loud and gaudy....but it works wonderfully. And if all else fails you can start an online toy business <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/biggrin.gif">

The thing I like most about it is that it does'nt look depressing like so many other sites done by graphic designers. So many sites are gray, dark and dull. I do believe that a bright and colorful designs make people more positive to the site, and possibly makes them stay longer.

Thanks for the comments.

OK; here's some netscape fixes you need to implement.

First, in the body, also include "marginheight=0 marginwidth=0", this will do the same thing for Netscape that "topmargin=0 leftmargin=0" does for Internet Explorer.

The bottom of the table blows up, with many spaces, yuck! Lemme see what's wrong...

Ah! The FONT was too HUGE! That made the table the copyright fits into too big. You've specified your fonts using "pt" for "points", right? Never do that, Points will be different from Macintosh to Windows. Windows says that there are 72 points to an inch and 96 pixels to an inch, while Macintosh says that both are equal to 72. Specify your font sizes uing "px" for pixels and they'll always read the same no matter what.

I still like it.

Hmm,

"this.css has no properties.
JavaScript Error: ...nyside1.html, line 81:"

Which is...

this.scrollHeight=bw.ns4?this.css.document.height:this.el.offsetHeight

What is this supposed to be doing? It's not doing it, heh. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

Thanks Doc. Fixed the text. Still dont know what do do on the scroll though. I have the same script on my current site, and it works fine in NS as well there.

OK. Removed the scroll. Did'nt really need it. Hope it works better in NS now.

I've edited it a bit. Removed the BG, centered the i-face, and offcourse added some content. I'm happy with it!! Think I'll stick with it for a while.

OK, the table is still just a bit broken in Netscape 4.72 on my mac, the sides don't quite line up right. Funny, every time I load the page my browser hangs for about 15 seconds, almost like it's thinking about a loop really hard? I'll have to look at the source, maybe some leftover scrollbar script? Oh, and BTW, the originally posted link led to a 404 page that wanted me to accept a certificate that was expired, yadda yadda, I didn't like that.

I wanna jump in here. The white is VerY WHITE. and the yellow is very yellow. And The green is very neato. ooh... the blue mouseovers are nice. It is a simple design that is done nicely in a different way.

okay, this irked me from the beginning when I didn't respond, so I am now going to respond.

Simply, those gears...they're all at the same angle. The wonderful thing about cogs and gears is that they can be rotated without ill effect and create a wonderful flow to the document you are working on. I say rotate, rotate, rotate. Otherwise.....ehhhh, it's 90 degrees everwhere and boring.

Otherwise, nifty.
