I've been visiting this forum for a bit, thanks to my boy krets But he did mention this is the best place to get honest critiques and comments, So I finally decided to post my site. It's totally narcissistic. I apologize for the load time, its graphic heavy. Its super wide too...sorry I pretty much said "screw people with small monitors" and the menu on the left isn't functional yet...Thanks much..

oooh, a girl, we don't see many of those around here =)

Nice site, I like blue too... we all do. First problem I saw was the top image had 2 vertical splits, one right in the center of the page (i have it maximized on 1024 x 768 and still has a slight horizontal scrollbar) splitting the "L", and the other one just to the left of your stomache there.

I know you already gave up on small rez people, but I think if you wanted to change your mind about that you could combine the two side columns into one side, and just shrink the text area a little, and shrink your top image. It might still look good.

You need a bit more padding to the left of the text in the sidebars.

Heh, nice scanlines on the top there. =) heh, we've been discussing the use of scanlines recently, is why i brought it up...

nice site overall, eye pleasing, and the journals were interesting too.

I will not hold anything back, even though you are a woman. Take it like a man, bay bee.

:: Doesn't fit in 800x600. I see the H.S.O.D. and I leave.
:: *Very* image heavy. Optimize your images a touch more, and I'm sure I won't be the only one happy.
:: It's been a rare joy to see such messy code. That by itself isn't a bad thing. But it's beefing up your load time. You don't notice it because you've got it cached; the first load was *horrifically* slow.
:: We've discussed the white lines. I just want you to know it's because of messy code, to further reiterate my point. Stop letting Dreamweaver write your code for you. And if you're going to continue, clean it up afterward.
:: I really appreciate the menusystem on the top-left. I love cubes. Love. *LOVE* The only problem, of course, is that they don't fit in with anything else. Sure they're blue, but they're 3d, and nothing else is (except for the XYGOXEN bit in the bottom-left)
:: The text-image on the top-right is virtually unreadible. That might just be me. It might be others, too. For the sake of conversation, know this: the threshold of legibility is 8pt verdana. Don't go smaller than that.

All in all, a very slick site. It's appealing, pleasant to the eyes. Save for the obvious coding problems, it's super.

...OH...and add another colour. Blue is great and all, but... for God's sake. Add another colour. Anywhere.

Hey Bella! Yeah wow, going for the wide is OK, but too big for a maximized browser at 1024x768? That's pushing it just a bit, something like only 5% of all users actually are running there, and most of them who are are *not* running their browsers at full screen! Really, if you can't bring yourself to shoot for 800x600, at least try and work at 1024x768, please!

I like the blue, but would definitely consider the use of some highlight color, doesn't need to be heavy, but something to compare the blue to. How are you liking GreyMatter? I've played with it and think it's pretty cool overall. I'm one of the "early adopters" over at www.LiveJournal.com - they have a very cool metaphor for this, where everyone gets to merge their journals together, add "friends" and view all of their posts, comment on each others, neat. (No, I hardly ever post, maybe only twice, but the tech was cool, and the community aspects just rock.)

Yah, the little box links need something to attach themselves to the rest of the design, play around with 'em more. (Maybe link them to something, hah!) Glad you got yourself a cam! When is it going to go live, hmm? I'm waiting!

Thanks sooo much for everyones comments and honesty. I post other places and they sugar coat everything, maybe because i'm a chick, dunno. Krets was right, this is the best place to get a honest critique of your site. So it's back to the drawing board for me. 1. I'll definately fix the res. 2. I love cubes too, so I'll try and find a better way to incorporate them. 3. Will definately add another color to spruce it up. 4. My wysiwig ***
The white lines was actually an easy fix, it was due to some column spanning, duh!
Once again, thanks! Looking forward to posting again!

Oh, I definately like using Greymatter, very simple to use and edit. Another Krets find..hehe thanks bud!

Well, most everything's been said but I'll add one or two comments anyway The one thing that really doesn't work for me is the grafitti-ish font for the title, seems really out of place. I'd look at pulling that font you used on your links (and maybe even playing with the cube a bit) and using that or something similar in your title. As far as an accent color something orange or gold would work really well and really be set off from the blue. Pretty solid overall tho, kep it up...

if you want to get rid of that white space at the top of your page, try adding this to your body style tag.

body {
margin : 0 0 0 0;
margin-bottom : 0;
margin-left : 0;
margin-right : 0;
margin-top : 0;
}

:: notes ::

it doesn't resize to fit my browser, which sucks.
i'm not feelin' the scroll bar colors at all.
other than that, cool site. simplicity is golden.
