m'kay!
Rad design. Really dig it. The problem (and there is only one) is that it's *really* boring. There's *no* colour *anywhere* on the page. Well, that makes us unhappy. Sure, you're going for the "night" (nite) paradigm, but you could still throw in some muted yellows, perhaps some twilight blues, maybe a sunset red... Gotta throw colour in, or you're losing half your audience to squintism.

First off, I will say everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.
Bright people who like colors will not like my site. My site is my own, I colored it the way I wanted it to be, it wasn't meant for people to like or dislike...it's just *there* and has it's fanbase.
Like I said, critiques were not needed, as I am my own critic. I don't like people telling me how to design (not that anyone did that). I am just telling you that the site is back and available for viewing.
If I sound harsh, I apologize. But it irks me when people think that designs should be *just right*.

Hmmm. I like your little poke at our critiques you posted on your page.
If you don't care what anyone thinks then why did you post this site in site reviews?
There are better ways to get traffic.

couldnt view it so I couldnt review it but then again, it looks like you didnt want a review anyhow? lol.. oh well.. hmmm... strange!.. but if twItch^ loves it.. then it must be special..
I have yet to understand the concept of denying access to a website based on a vistors browser?.. what am I missing?..

Inp - would you like me to move this thread ot the general 'ozones' section?
this section is for reviews:
quote: Got new website you'd like reviewed? Post the URL here, maybe we'll talk about it!
...but, while it's here...
i really liek the simplicity of this page.
personally, im not entirely sure about twitch's color comments - although im sure it could be valid, i fail to see on a practical basis how it could be effectively implemented.
although the "*really* boring" comment is right on, and im not sure how you could avoid this without the use of color...
im not sure why your site is there, if it's purpose is to test the loyalty of its users by trying to dissuade them from viewing your (what seems to be quality) content by providing a site in which nothing jumps into the foreground, then so be it. but if you want to encourage visitors to explore, then maybe some people in the asylum could have some constructive suggestions for you to consider, before you dismiss them as the conformist opinions of those who are "design-style-of-the-week" (have you seen the sites these people have? some nice stuff, you know...).
you are your own critic... well, im sorry, but chances are, anyone who views your site is a critic as well... its just a matter of whether or not you give a shit about their opinions.
if i sound harsh, i apologise. i have no right to do so - my experience as a designer, is, no doubt, far more limited (and corporately constricted) than yours. however, my experience as an online aesthetic consumer is quite developed, and if someone submits their site for review here, ill submit my opinion if i feel the need.
anyway... i gotta say, i love that photo - the texture on that guys face, the lighting - it fits the site perfectly.
and twitch - i found some color! about 30 pixels worth... very bottom of extras, in the corners of the bryce preset logo.

vogonpoet: the answer is that hes to friggen L-A-Z-Y to figure out how to code.
i find it very offensive that anyone TELLS me which browser i have to have. i was explicitly told to go get a browser that was "made by the devil". lynx doesnt work, no versions of ns work (including ns 6 -- which *is* on the ball). makes me wonder how people who dont support the devil and use unix for their desktop (betcha didnt know that ie is only available for solaris systems.. by far less people are using solaris compared to linux or BSD).
btw, opera works.. and they *arent* the devil.

awww, sasha, I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'm not too lazy to code, yet I chose not to do table hacks anymore.
I enjoy the comparison of browsers and eyes. The browser is, for all intents and purposes, the eyes which we use to view the WWW. Well, if someone offered you to take off your glasses in reality forever, and all it took was an hour of your time -- no money whatsoever -- would you do it? Of course you would. So, someone offers you to experience the web as the designer/producer intended it to look, and all it takes is an hour -- no money whatsoever -- and yet people bitch and complain about it. I find *that* to be a lot more counterproductive. I find *that* to be *far* more lazy than anyone that uses technology to build websites.
I find it odd that you use *any* forum available to turn into the soap-box queen...but I guess I'm used to it by now. I hate to beat a dead horse, but my site works for everyone. If you're in a text browser (i.e. lynx) you can see it. If you're blind you can read it. If you're using a WAP/PDA source, you can read it. If you're using NS(any version) you can read it. If you're using Opera (any version) you can read it. If you're using IE (any version) you can read it. Now, if you have IE5/Win, IE5.5/Win, NN6/Win, IE5/Mac, NS6/Mac, or Opera 5 you can also see it as I intended it to be seen.
So where does your bitch stand? I'm using the technology at my hands to develop sites. If a movie producer was going to do some slick animation and action sequence but then didn't because he was worried people with visual problems with viewing moving images would bitch...wouldn't that be a loss to the movie production itself? Why do *you* use the Net? Do you use it *solely* for the gathering of information? Well, any site I make can be used for that purpose...and they look really great in nice mostly- to completely-compliant browsers.
Though I *wil* admit that the page you get if you're in NS4.6 is a bit presumptuous. It could have easily been designed to let all users in, since his "content" is clearly more important than his "design." He's not properly seperated the two...pity, that. He could've done it properly...but then again, he could've put target="_blank" on his links so they didn't load in that tiny, tiny frame. But then again, he could've done a lot of things better...but he doesn't care about our comments.
Sorry to ramble on like this, it's simply something that strikes a powerful chord with me. Friends?
---Additional Commentary--
So that everyone using NS4.6 knows, his code is *incredibly* messy. That, combined with an *awful* usage of tables and frames makes the site difficult to load in NS4.6 If you're interested in actually seeing it break your browser, skip the redirect and go here I'm sure it's worth the humor. This is what we get when we don't properly seperate content from style/design. And so you know...it *could've* been coded properly to fit into NS4.6. It is possible. And yet, the man refuses. *THAT* is arrogance.
