I don't think I've ever seen one here...so here goes.

The Site Name is What ever you want it to be, but the interface, that's a different thing.
SOmething Technoish, but you can mix fluidic or organic componenets in there if you want. It has to go across the top an halfway down one side of the screen, left or right, you take a pick.

The winner has the privelige of being named 'Master of the GUI' for one month, and coming up with their own ideas for the Interface CHallenge for the next month. Now...get cracking!

Depends on what you call techno now doesn't it.

Also...techno interfaces are some of the easiest ones to come up with ideas for, and alot easier for BEGINNERS to do, beucase there are so many out there. A true artist should never consider something 'below themselves' or 'too easy' to be worth doing, you should be able to make it harder for yourselves if you find it to easy, set unreachable limits on what you'll allow yourself to do and then strive for them.

Funny...techno interfaces are also, in my experience, the most difficult to navigate. Figure that. Wonder why? They're too damn easy, there's 1000s of tutorials out there to ensure that you do absolutely nothing unique, and your have places like here romanticising the whole thing.

Now, if you want to throw "under 20k" in there, then the competition might be worthwhile.

It's framed, so I prolly should have linked to the front door. But I didn't. Shame on me.

I like the way some of the tuts are presented. So many holes to fill in some of them. That place is so lax on so many fronts, it makes kind of fun to browse.

The Tips That Should Not Be:
If you can tell the plugins you used, toss the texture out. I can spot eyecandy shiny bevels from a mile away.

DO NOT use alienskin eyecandy for bevels, you will look unprofessional, and if I ever see you on the streets I will cut your throat with the little metal thingy of an AOL floppy disk.. thats a really sad way to die. So please, take my advice, don't use plugin bevels, develop your own technique!

I was thinking along the same lines, about the holes in the tutorials. There's a lot of stuff you can do, either inbetween, instead of or in addition to what's there.
