There's a lot of 'Mad Scientists' around!
In about a year or so most of the regulars will have that title.

Is there a new title to run for?

In rewarding the 5000th post, and then for the 10.000th (a number already mentioned by the Doc!)?

think about quality not quantity

personally, I can hardly imagine posting several times every day but for some thats common. I would rather not see topics being used for a substitute for ICQ, Instant messaging or E-mail just to accumulate posts. A race for some 'special' title might cause this. Or....mabye the 'special' title could be just special enough that nobody would race to be first to get it, more like the scarlet letter or something. Or mabye I shouldnt have been awake for 22 hours straight and should go to bed....hummm

my goal is to be useless and aquire as much hate e-mail as possible....

Well, the number of zeros seem to be enough reward for the Posters!

Actually, I just counted the Mad Scientists (how do you count a group of Mad Scientists? A gaggle, a school, a fleet?) ... ANYways, we have 21 Mad Scientists right now, and 3 Psychotics. I've been thinking, it'd be fun to name the users more broadly by number of posts. The biggest problem is finding enough interesting names for insanity, and grading them accordingly! Hacking the script is easy by comparison.

I think the name 'Sedated' would be good if we were able to also go on number of posts per year. Sedated would be if they have veryl ittle posts for a long time.




In the beginning, there was the word...and the word was 'God', although by the time it reached the other end of the phone line... the word was 'Gznd'

All right, my version of the list:

• Initiate 0 - 15 posts
• Neurotic 16 - 31 posts
• Spaz 32 - 63 posts
• Maniac 64 - 127 posts
• Delirious 128 - 255 posts
• Lunatic 256 - 511 posts
• Demented 512 - 1023 posts
• Zealot 1024 - 2047 posts
• Menace to society 2048 - Omega posts
• Psychotic admins of one area
• Mad Scientist forum admins

I think one of the list should go, as I think it's impossible to become a Menace to society this way... and yes, the boundary numbers are the holy byte numbers, 16,32,64,128,256 etc.

I'm not sure about Initiate and Zealot - how about 'outpatient' and 'lifer'.

I also suspect Spaz could be taken to be offensive and I'm not sure about the order. How about: Outpatient, Neurotic, Delirious, Deranged, Maniac, Lunatic, etc.

The numbering makes sense.

Mahjqa, I *do* like that list. I also had a problem with "spaz", I'd prefer something a little more clinical between Neurotic and Maniac, we should be able to find *something* in between those two! =) We'll have to think about what happens after 2048, we already have a few in that area. I was thinking about having the diagnoses slowly mellow out as your post count goes... postal. Eventually you'd reach the pinnacle, "Mildly Eccentric"! (Or optionally, "Mostly Harmless" =)

Yesh, I do know the meanings of most words in English, but some of the idiom escapes me from time to time, since English is not my first language. I was sure the list wasn't perfect, so change it a bit if you need to.
