Geez, i thought were were talking about astral projection here, not listening to people swabble and babble incoherently. Anyway...

the thought of bad experiences with astral projection. now i know i'm not experienced here, but from what i have experienced [little as it is] and from what i've read, there is no such thing. as soon as you're uncomfortable in your astral form, you become aware of your body therefor ending your projection. there is no limits of time and space so it takes no time to get back to your body and end the experience, right?
but if i'm wrong here, please correct me, i'd like to know the dangers as well.

But here is what we did in the 70s.
They claim while in a dream state you can control your imagination if you can control any part of your body or can recognize the fact you are dreaming. Now it takes a lot of practise but you can train your mind to recognize familier things in a dream. Now once you can concentrate on this form of entry into the sub-conciouse then the next step is concentration. .........then the fun begins........its like daydreaming only your in the reality of it not just thinking it...........

Astrol projection is real.... ive experienced it ....but you enter your concouse state not the worlds so you never are in this time-space zone but yours..............All experiments failed to get ones controled concouse to interact with others in this time and space...a few claimed they succeeded but couldnt prove it.

Ol school also claims that this is the road to sorcery and for those who dedicated there life to sorcery....well....... they claim to be able to take over ones mind..........and they claim they can take over ones mind if they are caught in astrol projection.................I only know this...........that i was able to focus on my hands in my dreams and i slowly was able to get control and use my own imagination to project reality........the first couple of times was a trip because if any of you have experienced that falling sensation.......well thats what happens when your mind wakes up in that dimension..as soon as i felt control this overwhelming experience took place........i rushed back into my body..and it was that falling feeling.....the cool thing was i was the one who initiated it...it wasnt just an uncontroled dream

Well i got pretty good at.it...........the experience was really similar to taking an acid trip.......you get caught up in a dimension where time slows.......and your seperated from body-soul.......well this experience was close to the same as dream control......(thats what we called it)

This is ol school...back when humans where more in touch with nature and the natural order of things.

I Found this postt fascinating.........so i came back to address another experience................

For those who want to try something spooky but cool......try concentrating on your hands when you dream...meditate every night before you sleep that you will wake up and control this dimension..........i did and i stumbled on ol school...........

In reflection to Doc, that is very interesting information to me as I have never done any serious meditation, but I understand intuitively what you describe. BTW, I'm glad u returned to post again. That is exactly how I see it. However, there is one caveat. Physical reality as we know it is given its common substance and laws of physics based on an agreed upon convention by all souls participating. During astral projection you withdraw from the influence of our common world and suddenly your own thoughts become much more powerful. Especially because you are entering the realm where thoughts and ideas are all that exist. So anything is really possible, including the belief that you are somehow trapped away from your body, etc.

Therefore the only danger comes from yourself. If you are comfortable with this concept of the power of your own thoughts, then there can never be a problem because you know that you are in complete control no matter what happens. People who have bad experiences probably have some kind of personal issues that they are hiding from and refuse to acknowledge which can then manifest themselves during astral projection.

My belief is that this is essentially what happens when you die (except then you have no living body to return to). Apparently if you have very strong beliefs you will still cling to them after death despite the available evidence. This means that if you are a devout Christian, you could experience heaven or hell as you envision it, but eventually you would discover the truth that in the afterlife your thoughts become manifest.

Thats an interseting study also.....

As a christian...(ol school christian..not western christianity)...we believe that the cosmos creates the molecular dimension with quazars and novas............energy is fused with this dimension to create intelligence using earth as a host...........the spirit graons to be born into the energy it is ....not wallow in molecular limits........We believe Christ showed us what you need to be born into that intelligent energy.............

Once molecular you are in a birthing mode............you spend a life time learning how to create a seed that can grow in eternity............so where born without a reality.......stage one...........then we learn to sow a reality.....stage 2.....then when you are born in the spirit.....(born again)..then your ready for the final destination....to die as a seed we have prepared ....if you know the life giving energy..... then when you are born into eternity you will recognize the fruit and grow.

The cosmos is the host.....(mother)....the earth is the womb..........and death is the final stage when energy with a concouse is re-born into that intelligence that existed befor the molecular realm was created.

Far fetched .yes..........but not as far fetched as the other theories........what ever works for ya.

I took the cosmos the earth and energy and found a understanding that addresses these issues..It just happen to come from the bible. I dont have the answeres but i dont have any questions when i apply this logic to my existance...........thats me.......

Ive seen people stare at the same object yet see 2 differnt images.........whos right whos wrong.........well if you believe in something your right .......if you refuse to believe anything you looooose..................

I do have some great experiences in this area............but thats what we where into in the 70s

I have countless hours meditating with Napal temple fingers and balls......(anyone here decipher what i just said.......i can hear the gutter people already.......clue...it has a conection to opium).

well DocCyber, you do intrigue me with your talk of 'old school' christianity. where might i learn more about these ideas?

as for dream control, i love it. do it as much as i can, unless it's been a very hectic day and all i want is for conciousness to end.

and jiblet, your idea of the afterlife i find very, very attractive. i pray that it is something like that, because hell sure sounds like an awful place. and by how i've been raised, fire and brimstone is all that awaits me.

but back to the astral planar. i have a friend who told me a story once. he had a student who was learning astral projection and thought he could show up his teacher by projecting to his house and looking over his shoulder as made up the test. to make a long story short, he did this and aced the test as did his friend who he gave the answers to. the student got concience pangs and decided to tell his teacher about it. he did and the teacher asked him to describe the room in his house and anyhting else he could remember. the student recieted it with clarity. then the teacher asked him what night he did it and it turns out the teacher had made up the test a week earlier from when the student projected.
this brings up the question of time in the astral plane. can we move through it? backward and forward? now to me this is scary and i don't htink i would actually try to do something like this, i'm having hard enough time getting out of my body. but i was wondering about some others views on it.

Funny that you describe creation that way, because although I would never articulate it like that, I can understand exactly what you mean.

You also mentioned two people looking at an object and seeing different things. That is a perfect analogy for Truth. Just because two things (ideas, statements) seem to contradict each other does not mean one is wrong. That's the fallacy of many thinkers. They believe that truth is objective, when in fact it all depends on your perspective.

Some things seem to have obvious truths about them. Like the Earth being round for instance. Everyone used to believe unquestionably that it was flat. It was obvious... then one day we discover that it's round. As humans, all we can know is what our senses tell us. If science progresses far enough, eventually all things that we believe today will probably change, making today's beliefs look silly. Yet we function perfectly well with what we have.

I think after death we will learn how subjective the physical world really is, but there will still be mysteries. I view exisance as infinite dimensions... when you die, you move to the next one, which makes the previous one seem obvious and predictable... but then you 'die' on the next level, which takes you even farther.

The infinite dimension which encompasses everything would be what God is. As such God is omniscient, but yet incapable of identity. I think that is the purpose of existence, so that all parts of God can have identity and interact as individual components, thus experiencing limitations.

This is probably one of those 'far fetched' theories you speak of Yet it doesn't matter if it's wrong. Maybe the atheists are right and there's nothing beyond our physical world and when you die that's it... Honestly I don't care, because I believe what I want, not what people tell me. I feel good about it because I am not locked into some strict belief. If something doesn't make sense to me I just change my beliefs. And when I die, either I'm right, or I'm wrong, but it doesn't affect my life except for not being scared of dying. All I know is living a life of Fear is not fun, and honestly I don't know why people put themselves through it.

Moving through time, interesting question. I see time as how we orient ourselves in the physical world, thus it should be easily traversible through astral projection. Seeing as how I'm just theorizing off the top of my head, I'm sure I will hit a stumbling block somewhere and have to revise my ideas...

Having never actually done this I don't know if moving through time is hard or easy... I imagine distance is measured by the similarity of thoughts and ideas rather than physical space or time. So traveling a week back to your teacher's house would be easy, but witnessing the Trojan war would be hard.

As I mentioned in another thread, I view time as a path through all possible parallel dimensions. So if you go to the future, and see something, it doesn't mean that will necessarily happen... because once you return to your body you can take whatever action you want. I think this happens in dreams a lot, where you see a possible outcome of events. It's kind of like a message from your spirit showing what could possibly happen the way things are going. I imagine you could also visit alternate pasts...

Again, I know nothing of the mechanics (if u can even use that word) of such things. It could be that I am way off base, but I have an inkling that it all depends on the individual... whatever you believe to be possible is exactly what IS possible.

Man, this conversation REALLY is making me want to get more into this stuff...

Ol christianity is a great understanding. It starts on the day of pentacost when something un-usual was recorded and witnessed by a few thousand. A force unknown to earth was communicating with people in the spirit............we call that the pouring out of the spirit of creation itself..........Spiritual intelligence finaly breaking thru to man.......this is recorded history folks.......not religeouse hopla

western christianity has turned those recorded events into some sort of mans last days armaggedon based on the distructive force this spirit has on emotional strongholds.............(i can explain this........ its fascinating.....not now though......what a deception they fell for)

Well, DocCyber, that helps a bit. Your version of Xianity is clearly in the mystical category. I am probably about as far away from that as can be. I take a very straight forward view of scripture. I believe that eternal life is completely open to all and *anyone* can access it by hearing the Gospel, that is to say, there is no mystery whatsoever. It is plain and simple and waiting for takers. But I am still interested to hear some other time how you were able to figure out the mystery of the Bible.

I have looked at christianity from many angles and at different times of my life. My brother is a pastor with a masters degree in theology and the old greek language.

And has been for 25 years

We have some great discusions. The ol world christianity can be found in first century documents and best if you can read orig greek.

You will find all the problems with literal scripture there. The bible was written in symbols and analogies.............it wasnt written straight forward because it holds to much spiritual power ...........it was cloaked for your protection. The only way you can un-lock the mystery is to throw out all understanding and let the understanding come from revelation which you recieve when you enter the journey ...............

Yea i was sceptical to..........but i gave it a year ......in the 8th month i recieved the keys..................it not only knocked me to the ground but an entity was witnessed by my family talking in a tongue no one had ever heard before but all understood..................the same spirit that was poured out at pentacost was poured out on me that day.....................since then 3 other membersw of my family have experienced the same thing.....plus i have 2 friends that have witnessed ........so .............what i say is believe nothing you hear and half of what you see............well i got enough proof to turn this pagan into a believer.........yea the spirit is strong..............................

Im think the topic in this forum is a good one and find it refreshing that someone is still interested in astrol projection.........ive spent years studying that principle........which is why i think i was able to find the principle that opened the door to the keys.

But here is what i used to do to enter a dream state..........first i would calm the inner waters with ti-chi..........then id wind down with some relaxing stretching and enter into yoga..........after the stretch my body was tired but relaxed ....thats the key.................you need a body that is well relaxed and wont move.......movement will rush you back everytime.......that falling feeling again.

Then id enter a dream and would lookj for something familier.........you dont need much just a recognition is all it takes to enter controled dream state......then if you can handle the rush and dont rush back you will have an interesting time.............dont believe me .......try it....:-)...........all true i assure you.

And if you are seriouse and want to give it a shot..........let me know if anything interesting happens...............might give skeptics a new lease on philosophy.

And DL........ill spell correctly if you truly dont understand my typing.......but i think you can and are being a bit picky on spelling......hehehe..

Ok, I'm a lot more on Bug's train of thought here than yours, but I'm trying. Do I agree that there's a lot more to the bible that what's simply to be taken at face value? Absolutely, that's why folks have been studying it for hundreds of years. I believe that God can reveal things to us in scripture as well that we wouldn't normally see. Not sure I quite buy into the idea of there being a "key" tho. I've witnessed experiences similar to the ones you mention firsthand BTW, I don't think that's limited to your "method".

As far as the key.......its in the bible ..i didnt make up that story. You are given keys to a kingdome.....what kingdome are they talking....who knows but its a piece of the mystery.....and a person did hold the keys..........thats what started the catholic church...........im just adding that to the equasion because its there and it does have tremendouse power.

Let me ask a question.....has anyone here read the orig writings in Hebrew Aramic or Greek from orthodox jews not baptist or Jahovas..or mormons or catholics......but the full accounts of the orig..........and read the full accounts of Josephus.....a jew that was hired by the Romans to record history.....and was mysteries revealed to some and not to others................how many here can debate the bible............(raises hand).....there was and is a cosmic encounter here that changed the calander ..changed the way we look at death and changes the way we think about the spirit.......that was recorded history...even the Muslims believe that jesus was real....and the muslims and the christians make up a hand full i think....:-)...what he was is debatable to some but he did something that was different and it changed history..........................

en-hancers. does the brain really need these? it seems to me there are more downsides to using 'enhancers' then there is up, especially since they're not a must. your brain can reason well enough without these, and i feel these enhancer DE-enhance my brain. i mean, if your brain can do it alone, what's the point of altering your brain to an unnatural state. that to me, would bring about unnatural ideas and unnatural events. one thing is for sure though, ever since i tripped really hard, i've thought differently throught the rest of my life. i'm not sure i can define this difference, but i do know there was one. and i dont think it was good.

reacurrance of dreams. is that what you mean by finding something familiar in a dream DC? like if you are dreaming and all of a sudden you realize you've dreamt this before. is it that familiarity or recognition of something familiar in your dream, or is it just the fact that you realize you in fact ARE dreaming, that makes the difference? i do find usually when i have reaccurances in my dreams that is when i begin to take control of them most of the time. other times i do not need any familiarity in my dream to realize i'm dreaming. so i would deduce that it is the acknowledgement that i'm dreaming that gives me control, but i just wondered some other views on it.

as for the bible holding mysteries, i do think it does, but i dont think you need to understnad them fully to acheive heaven. i dont think god is heartless enough to try and make it so hard for us, or to allow it to become so hard for us. i do think there is so much more then we are getting, but i don't think it completely neccessary for redemption. i have grown up with the understanding that there is an absolute truth though, not that perception is truth. yes there may be examples you can give me where there is two different ways to look at something and the views contradict but still both be correct, but not in all cases can you apply this logic.

Sir....have you tried enhancers...not once or twice but enough to get used to them and control them...the orientals have been using opium for centuries..Narcotics wernt looked on the same way as society does now.....there was a time when narcotics where sold everywhere legally........it wasnt till this century that man decided drugs where bad.

Even Bruce Lee did enhancers in the form of hash-opiated brownies...and i dont think his works had a downside. Just wondering if you have tried them to know if there are any downsides.

The trip you mentioned that changed your life would have taken you farther had you kept journeying..(imho....). It opened paths to you that where always there. And thats there purpose ..to show you the door.....if you abuse the drug after that....well watch the local news youll see what happens to abusers. Morphine is great if you need the pain killer but watch-out......its a monster unleashed

The dream state recognition im talking about is concouse recognition..........you can in a dream state become concouse in that dream and control its outcome like you control what and when you do things during the day....same difference only your imagination is now reality....the key is to wake your concouse in a dream state and then stay there.... if your sub-concouse mind is trained you can in your imagination climb mt everst.....but only because you trained for that climb in mind preperation........that keeps the what if imaginations from entering in and freaking you out with some image you conjured up at an earlier time....I also know that some people are born with natural gifts and can achieve this state of mind at a higher level naturaly....where the rest of us have to condition ourselfs for that natural response to dreams..........we all dream..........it is a dimension.............some do it better then others......

I have meet some intersting people...and the best thing was most of them where artist with great imagining skills.........(which is why i brought up the drug topic many moons ago)..............my mistake.

I was speaking with my lawn today about you DC and it told me that I should just ignore you and move on. I thought about that but you know what? Fuck it, its Zoisia grass, what the hell does it know?

I was reading back through a lot of threads today and I noticed something, when you don't bring your assinine commentary into a thread the discussions stay pretty civil. Then you wander in slinging your ellipses around and stumbling over the English language like a road of over-sized cobblestones. You completely ignore the actual message of other people's posts, twisting and mangling their ideas until they become an attack on you. You throw up your arms and yell "conspiracy! conspiracy!" whenever someone disagrees with you, yet its perfectly OK for you to attack someone else's beliefs/opinions. You somehow think that you have some sort of elevated insight into certain topics that stems from you chemically enhanced experiences and you defraud their ideas based on that.

Please DC, go back into the asylum and show me one post where you have contributed something useful to a thread. I will give you this though, you finally stopped pasting those horrific cookie-cutter Bryce images all over the place and acting like they were a work of art.

OK, thats enough. Back to Astral Projection.

Personally, I prefer not to project my ass anywhere but to this seat in front of my computer.

So I tried this last night. It was pretty interesting really. I just laid down on my bed, didn't move at all, and concentrated on my breathing for a while. I started to get this paralyzed feeling, like I couldn't move my arms or legs after awhile. Then I tried to concentrate on making myself float above the bed. It kinda started to work, I got really dizzy and it felt like the bed was curving so that I was only touching it on the edges. Unfortunately, I heard a sound outside and it broke my concentration. Anyway, it was an interesting experience, I might try it again tonight.

Didn't have any luck with actually controlling my imagination though.


I was doing some research and I found one possible method that I might try. Fall asleep with one of your upper arms laying on the bed, but with your forearm sitting straight up. That way, when you fall asleep, your forearm will fall, waking you up.

DocCyber....I just have to ask you this....do you turn your son on to these mind opening drugs? What kind of message do you feel you are sending some of the teens that come to this forum? And mbridge.........keep searching........... the trick with the arms is for experienced users......you will have a hard time keeping yourself in a dream state as it is........it is so shocking to your concouse that it startles you and you will get that falling feeling.....................almost everytime.........but press thru and dont give up.

If just one of you can push thru...then this thread would have been worth it.........even with the opposition wanting to shut me down, it was worth it

This particular forum is for the expression of opinions. The rest of them are for sharing ideas and getting help. Have you ever done any of that? Helped someone with a problem? I know that Shi has, if you ever need a font she can almost always help you out. DL has written some awesome tuts and provides great advice on PS functionality. I muck around with PS enough that even I can answer a question now and then, pretty soon I'll be able to answer most any question about functionalities of web editors (even FrontPage *hangs head in shame*). What do you do besides ramble on incoherently and try to bicker with people who are clearly more talented and knowledgeble than you in the digital art world?

This isn't about what I think of you. Its not about what I think of your opinions, thoughts, ideas. Its about your total disregard for the thoughts of others. You are very quick to point a finger at someone with an opposite view yet you constantly blabber about open minds.

Mmmm, yeah. Ok, at first i was kind of interested, but as we've drifted off into sounding WAY new agey. Do I agree that Christianity as we know it isn't the same as it started off? Absolutely, there's no way it could be given the revisions that we've seen to everything over the last two thousand years. At the same time I also belive that God's word, no matter what man has tried to do to it, is constant, and that God will get through to us what he wants to through the bible and that "enhancers" or whatever else you've tried sure isn't necessary. I actually have done some study and discussion on the differences between the Greek and the modern translations, interesting stuff. Whatever the case, the message is consistent enough that experimentation isn't require to get the general ideas. I'm not quite sure when your "enlightenment" came from, but I think i'll pass, thanks.

i've tried enhancers yes. pot was the only one i used for the purpose, but i find it effects my memory negativley and though i can think in my mind about something more fully then when i'm not high, social interaction becomes difficult. i also worry about things when i'm high, which i completly do not like. as for LSD, i took that in the wrong environment and had a very bad trip. conciquently i decided to never do it again. opium was a very relaxing drug but not experimented with much at all as it's not to readily available.

my reasoning leads me to think that if i can achieve my goals through the use of my own mind, and no help from opiates or any other enhancers that my mind will be the better for it, and stronger. it's like cheating on a test to me, if you cheat, you do not learn to the fullest. you are dependent on something else to help you through it and not self sufficient. i'm not saying i critisize you or anyone else for using them, i just think i can do without, from a personal perspective.

the other night i slept at a friends house and agreed that he would try to remember his dreams through the night, (a first step if you ask me to better concentration) and i would try also, though i was really going to try and control mine through the night. i didnt' control my dream but a strange thing did happen. in my dream three friends of ours walked in to where we were sleeping and we all started talking. we conversed most of the night. even though i don't remember the subject matter of the conversations, it was a very real feeling, as if maybe the others were actaully there. i supposed this could be my imagination, or just a strong desire to have my friends around again, but i like to think it might have been as i suppose. i told my friend the about it a while later but he didnt' remember it at all, so i guess there's no way to really find out. but do you think it is possible for dreaming souls to meet up and share an experience in this state?
