Okey, I've asked before what your inspiration was.. htis time I will go a little further. I love to absorb and share ideas and techniques with my friends and colleagues. I whant to understand others motives and methods. Discuss! How do you prepare your work? Are you scetching up everything first, or do you just open a empty doc in Photoshop and play around?

I'm usually inspiried of all carzy things. Like the bustrip home from school I get many ideas I want to realize... and music, films, books, magazines. Everyhting! I study it, make my own version... that's how I see everything. I also tru to express my feelings in my work. If I'm in a good mood, I'll make something light and happy... if not, it will be dark and sad. I'm very focused on what I'm doing, to make it my own. That's part of the fun, make it my own. My view on everything.

Know it's a big question. But I want to know more about you... who are you guys?

Well I will start from the top downwards.

Motives: I get most of my motives from all sorts of things. The main big motives for me are buildings and other people. Buildings because most buildings what ever they are they are always there, most people just think there just concrete and brick, but there well more than that, they all have history to them, there all ways getting use in some way or other and there all looked at in some way or other. So to me they?re all a piece of art, because art is just like a building or the other way around. People mainly because there so many in the world, they?re all different in their personalities and have different cultures and history and I find that very inserting. Also I always want to be the best at the things I enjoy, so people that are better they make me push myself to do better. That really motivates me to better and as there is always people better than I am I will always push myself to archive to do better in what I do best.

Methods: Now I not very good at explaining things to other people as some of you already know that. So my methods are my methods and it?s too hard to explain.

Preparing myself: I prepare myself as most artists do, either sketch it first all just what ever come it there head at the time. I can?t really prepare myself in that way I just said because it just happens; this runs into inspiration as well. If I get inspirited I will try to put it down on paper, if I can?t put it on paper there and then I mostly lose the idea. It works the same way as I just open a new doc in PS or any other program, I have a mess around and from that ideas come and go. The ones that stick in my head, I will in most cases draw it there and then in that new doc or and other one. I also when messing around in PS and there is a few shapes, images or graphics I will make a new doc and put the few shapes, images or graphics that I like on that new doc for future inspiration. As you said Softhead about moods, depends what mood I am in at that time determines what I make or produce at that time.

Does that answer you questions?

Yeah, good answer Darkshadow... startin to know a little bit better now. So, what about all the other maniacs here? What's your answers... heh...

I have to mention some more things. I have many friends as don't understand what the f*** I'm doin. 'What is this? Art?' I love to make things as impresses them... try to make them understand. For me this IS art. Because it's something as I made... something I used my creativity to make...

And of course, as you said. I always wnat to be better. To develop my skills... I use many many freetime hours to develop as an artist. And I want to be the best

Oh, and I love art as well. I always loved to paint. Salvador Dali was a great artist!

HA HA...the fisteater is a lightweight..

Inspiration can come from anything from a dead bug on the dashboard, to an emotion generated by personal contact.. It`s kinda weird.

Prep.. Sometimes, scetches, sometimes playing around, sometimes they appear fully finished in my head, then all I have to do is recreate them.

Why, yes. I was raised by Apes. How did you know ?

I'm going to post this, because i bet that I'm not the only one who work like this:

My Creativity Process

I probably couldn't name the many things I do.

So here's one way that I come up with my rather interesting ideas.

I play with kids toys.

I'm sure we've all read something at one point or another that says something about creativity and your "inner child"... so I'm not going to get into it.
But I take it one step further.
As a kid... I always enjoyed making faces in front of the mirror in the bathroom. So now I do in in front of my web cam.
I mess around with that sock puppet that I've posted on here a bunch of times. Just making the sock puppet seemed to just get some creative juices flowing.
Last year, at christmas time.... (mind you... I haven't been home in 3 christmas's... so I've just been alone).... I had a small, fake tree on top of my refrigerator.
I decorated it with GI JOES. I made this big scene happening with them... and I changed it up every couple of days.
It's those sorts of things that let my mind wander. They sound crazy... and they probably are.... but it helps me get in touch with myself a bit more.

When I'm bored. I look through old pictures that I've taken. I will usually be able to come up with something after that.

Don't get me wrong... i just open up PS and play around a lot. PS only gets closed on my computer when I shut down. Besides that... it's always minimized, or open. So when ideas hit me.... PS is easier to get than a piece of paper.

When I'm at work... I usually have a piece of paper in my pocket that I jot down random thoughts on.
When I get home... just to break up my routines... I'll sketch out what I'm going to do ahead of time, rather than using PS right away.

I need to be comfortable when I'm creating.
A lot of times, that means that I need to take a shower and then change into a sweatshirt and wind pants. Then I'll slip into my sandals and put my favorite hat on.
When I'm in my room... I only have one light on in the corner... and it stays pretty dark for the most part.
I always have a glass of water next to me.
Usually I put on soft music at a very low volume...
Then I can just sit back..... relax... and enjoy the web.
I'll browse through sites for hours on end.

And when chances to come up to do something... I do them.
SO I'm leaving now.... I have a chance to go do something.
maybe I'll explain more when I return.
maybe I won't.

Most of my ~creative~ work is done in my art diary. I never go anywhere without my little black book and a couple of sharp pencils and a biro or two.

I usually fill up one diary in about 6 months. Mostly with crap, just doodles here and there. A sketch of the odd lady sitting across from me on the train. Maybe a series of arcs from a fountain in the city viewed from some obscure angle. Small passages of text or prose, sometimes I'll even quote what people have said to me. Othertimes my girlfriend or housemate will draw or write in them too.

It's a record of my mind, my inspirations, and the every day life of me. My diaries are more like logs of my creative thoughts. Most of my work is drawn from these little black books. I think I have about 5 of them now. It's always fun to go back through them all now and then.

It's also kinda funny to find repeats of certain sketches in my books. I think I?ve drawn my boots about 12 or so times now. I usually do this when I want to draw something but I'm in a very un-interesting place. I've also got a sketch of a coffee cup on a cafe table for every single cafe in Brisbane, except the cafe's that make crap coffee. They don't deserve a sketch. heh.

Most of the work I do on my PC is just an echo or extrapolation from my diary. I too often open up PS and just play, but I usually have a concept to work from and nine times out of ten, this concept comes from my diary. Almost every web site I've done over the past couple or years first started as a series or rough sketches in my book. Sure, I could just open up ps and go from there but this lets me refine and focus my work before I commit anything to my PC. It lets me explore all of the options and ideas much more easily. It's a form of visual research in a way. Mutch like you'd draft an assignment or essay several times before you'd write it. I draft my ideas out and work with them untill I'm happy with it. Then I'll crack open PS and get stuck into it.

Eh. I'm tired of typing now.....

Drac.

When I 'm stuck for ideas, I tend to listen to music while surfin' the web (usually look at tutorial sites, galleries, etc) to see what catches my eye and makes me go "hmmm" , take walks along the beach in my bare feet, or lay on my back on the bed and hang my head over the edge (learned it from my cat) - guess it just gives me a different perspective on things.

I like to just open up blank files in Photoshop or Painter and play with shapes, filters, brushes just to see what happens.
