Bugs - I guess it's because I attend Univ. of Michigan, lol. It's a really diverse campus and people are pretty much accepting of everybody. It tends to blind you to the rest of the world in a way. |

Raptor, be thankful that you live in an environment like that but don't be fooled, hate has *always* been with us and there is currently no shortage of it. But perhaps a better focus would be to ask what is the alternative to hate? |

I read it all the way through, waiting (and expecting) it to turn into sarcasm. HMm, strange. The simple fact is, that if you cause the death of someone through your own actions, you're guilty of murder. Think of how we might have reacted had it been some other type of person most people feel it's OK to hate, say a child molester, or a serial killer? The fact is, it's just not legal for people to kill other people! (Note: It's still legal to be an idiot. ;-) |

Way to go Bugs! Yes, the article is entirely on the side of...homophobia. And, big surprise, it takes a while to 'remove' the old hates and misconceptions of the past. The great news is that the men involved got prison sentences, and for life (now that's progress, if you ask me). Now people with homophobia will think twice before doing the same thing again. And that is progress (especially in Wyoming). As for the person who wrote the article, he's got a big mouth, but I don't think he's about to do anything about the situation, other than whine and moan about the 'injustice' of it all. A dying breed, if you ask me...with no place in the future. |

Bugimus - No, not suggesting that at all. I just found it interesting that so many people on what's IMHO the correct side of the issue, used the word hate and inciteful language similar to the original piece. Sort of, "I hate you because you endorse hate crime." Uh, wha'? |

I agree with brucew. There was one post that was going on about how people have the right to express themselves, and then later in the very same message say how much they hate people like that. I find the irony very commonplace, so to speak. Just meaning that people are writing their feelings without any real conviction, or dedication. The article on it's own was poorly written as someone earlier suggested, but at least he was consistent. What's worse being ignorant or lacking the conviction to stand by your opinion? |

Woah! Good to hear from you again, twItch^. Funny, but even though we are much different from each other, I often find myself agreeing with what you post...I feel you put the whole thing in a very easily understandable form...I agree with what you've said...so much hate, so very little understanding. |
