I wanna see video game sigs. Old school, new school, Asylum school -- gimme video game sigs.

Fair warning: animated or not, I *will* take filesize (and dimensions) into consideration. Find balance and I'll be happy.

I was going to do tetris! I just wasted 30 minuts of my day starting on that sig! its ok lol.

There's my submision. Hopefully the transparency is ok.

I could use some pointers on how to make it look a little more 3d.
Also, who catches the Parapa the Rapa refrence?

You forgot "Turn" and "Pose." Actually, without those, I didn't catch the reference until you mentioned it.

Wacom, trackball, it's all in the mind...

Anyway, here's mine. Not really a competition sig, since it's 75k, and not really an example of my artistic skills, but I spent too long working on it not to put it up. (You'll note that it does fit with the Asylum color scheme...) I'll come up with something slimmer after a bit.

(Not completely optimized, but I'm REALLY in a hurry, so please bear with me.)

Mahjqa, is that your fire trick with Polar Coords? I did some playing with that and it came out pretty sweet. Explosionesque or something.

Sorry folks, while I was sick, the registration for salvagion.com expired, and I haven't had the time or spare dosh to renew. Tragedy, I know, especially since mentioning it will probably cause scavenging..~L~

Nonetheless, the sigs are all locked up until further notice.

It's super spy hunter from the NES. There were buildings and stuff beside the road in the original sig, but I wanted to cut the filesize down so they were cut out. That left me with a 6 color gif.

Warjournal; It's not. It's easy.

Start with a looping animation. This was just a tileable pic scrolling down.


Then simply link all layers (all frames of the animation) and distort the layer with the transform tool. (CTRL-T)



Copy, or mirror one so you've got two sides. (one up, one down) Then make a black gradient on the outside, and a white gradient on the inside, add a gradient map (available only in PS6.x, fiddle with hue/saturation in earlier PS versions), draw and add a picture of an alien and you're done.

Heh. That look a bit easier than the polar coords route I took. Copy, Offset, Polar coords, repeat x15.

Ok mahjqa, so ur saying to have a gradient as a new layer over the moving tiled animation.

What is the gradient layer set to?

How did you come up with that tile and how did you make it scroll in an eternal pattern?

Insider, It's a [gradient map], a new feature in PS6.x. You can add one with [image>adjust>gradient map] or as an adjustment layer. It's quite easy. A gradient map converts your image to a grayscale image, then replaces the grays with the colors of a gradient. So, if you apply a gradient which goes from red to yellow, the black areas of the picture will be red, and the lighter areas will be yellow. If you still don't get it, there's a *.PSD below.
