Preserved Topic: Not really a sig but...animated (Page 1 of 1)

I was wondering if anyone could give me some input on this. I almost think the clouds may be moving too fast but it has to be under 15k or I cant use it...the first one was 64 frames with very slow clouds.

it took me a second to tell what the pic was due to file size. Now that I've seen it it jumps right out. It took even longer to realize your name is in there. it's still hard to read.
The clouds look fine from here.

Yeah the name is inserted in there...I guess I added the name to attempt to avoid the possibility of having some ripper 'borrow' it. yeah Grumble...deviantart, was it the colors that gave it away? I prefer subtlety so I figured using the standard color motif would from there work. Is he smirking Izzay? I always thought of them as rather stoic, some of the statues appear to have a bit of joviality implied. Maybe it was the sculptors amusement at the desecration of the island resources to build them...the story of the statues and their toll on rapa nui is an interesting ecological lesson. It is a it choppy I moved the clouds 8px per frame, the first one was moved 4px per frame and was a 64 frame animation, it was a bit smoother. There is also a .02 delay on each frame, anything less makes the clouds VERY VERY fast...I got it under 15k...I may mess with it a bit more.

As to recognizing it, its strange how many people can pause a bit then instantly recognize Moai as 'those statues' but they never really know much beyond that. Here is a full shot of the same Moai by Cliff Wasserman, those two are probably the most photographed ones but there are a few others...people seem to like the buried ones best.

massacre - yours has a fair bit of potential there.
i think it would look a lot smoother if the little 'blips' wrapped at different times.
should be acheivable.
plus, the "MAS" text could be neatened up HEAPS.


moaiz - nice work. i reckon that by making a shorter cloud loop, and increasing the number of colours, you could end up with a nicer looking sig. but that one is still really nice.

would make it much smoother really...

Grumble, yes the dimensions are 50x50 but it refuses larger images. I may try and up the quality a bit but I know it kicked out my first one...I cant remember the exact message...lemme try it. Whoops I was showing off the one that was higher quality...here is the one that deviantart finially took, it had to be under 15k, I got it down to 14k'ish, got 1k of improvement to work with.



I can see that it would be a bandwidth issue loading a thread full of pics, cant blame them I would do the same thing in their shoes. Thanks for all the input all, I will keep messing with it as time allows.

What's wrong with really fast clouds? Clouds already don't move that fast, so why not put a little bit of motion blur on the suckers and make em fly! It'll match the non-realistic colors, and the fact that your sig..flies.. or something.. i don't know.
