Yeah Pugz I've followed this for a little while now. Congrats on your dismissal.
Those articles posted above still make it look like there is still some fault on your part.
I don't see an ounce of blame on your side. What a douche to say "an alleged cyber crime like this is a new area of law, and the judge may be unfamiliar with it." That's like a slap to the judges face. If you go to civil court and beat him then I hope you turn around and sue his ass. Being that you have a strong income based upon the hardware he took and that those things lost value when he took them away you deserve something.

Ohh yeah I would also like to add... I think the new site SUCKS, but that's probably obvious.

I would like to reinterate ot the world that their new website is a steaming pile of crap. I've been to the old macombsheriff site, and it no time was it 'hard to find your way aorund it'. It was a magnificent piece of work to which their 'new and improved' site cannot even begin to measure up to.

Come on, their new website is wonderfull ... provided that you're stuck in 1997.

And than after that hearing if Pug wins, than I'm sure their might be a civil case. At least thats what seems to be on the horizon. Whatever happens, good luck pugz. I know how these things can be a real heartache. (Sued a old landlord and won and even that was a heartache).

Haertache or not it should have been civil in the first place...

Just my 0.02? on what I'd like to see in the next episodes :

  • the Macomb Sheriff ( or county I don't know exactly ) refunds Pugzly for his attorney's fees + the loss of incomes due to the suspicion of felony during that affair.
  • They also refund Pugzly for the hosting, development and maintenace fees of their site during years.
  • Once the two previous conditions are fulfilled, Pugzly sells them the old domain name for a symbolic amount.
  • Happy end.

Dude I got a great idea.

Just run for sherrif durring next election. If you don't win at least you're taking votes away from him. He can't arrest you for that.
My dad's friend is a sherrif and he seems to love his job.

Ok....I couldn't resist. I had to visit the new macomb-sheriff.com site. ouch The new site is actually painful to look at. But I will say this for it:

Some of the links really do work! And also, this site has made me re-evaluate my stance against FrontPage. I used to feel that the world would be a better place if FrontPage ceased to exist, but seeing that this site was made with Frontpage made me realize that some organizations deserve to have their pages built with such a fine tool....

I think the current owner of the domain name, (whoever that may be) should point it to the justice4pat website.

All of these ideas are interesting. For now, I've just got a wanted flyer up providing info about an idiot who stalked police officers in a nearby city until he found one alone, and executed him.

As for my case, we'll see what happens. Right now, I just want my stuff back.

And the really *fun* part is that I don't think there's a provision under the law for you to actually get it back. I might be interpreting it wrong as I'm no law expert, but I don't think it's there.

Congrats.

Aren't insane people supposed to be in asylums rather than the sane? That sherriff doesn't understand justice (though it is his job) and doesn't understand design (though he could judge whether or not you should be payed for it)

Well the site...

I suck at web design compared to most around here and can do a lot better than that. It has no pizzaz. The background is too complicated, the fonts need to be sans serifs. (I think they are easier to read.) It's clear that the images weren't made for the background on the page. When you click a link on the site you are taken from the main page and go to the content page. This is a mistake, in my opinion each page should look the same with only the content part of it changing. Easy to do with very limited knowledge of ASP or PHP or even SSI. I did like the news scroller, but the border kind of sucked.

Actually, I'll answer that. It's because I'm taking the high road. I consider myself a professional, working towards a resolution to this issue. Unlike the prosecution, you won't see me showing up in the papers slamming the other side, or using other tactics in an effort to scare or intimidate the other side.

I remain confident that a resolution can be reached in this matter, and thank the MANY people who have sent words of encouragement, donations to the legal defense fund, and have assisted in spreading the word.

I would also invite anyone who is interested in learning more about this case visit the Justice4Pat.com site. This site, setup by some of my supporters, is getting the 'real' word out about what's happening, as well as how you can help.

Thanks!

I think in the long run, keeping my head up and letting the court system get this resolved will be in my best interest. That's what it's there for.

There has certainly been days where I thought I should, but when I step back and take a breath & think about it, I realize I need to be the better side. I don't like dirty politics, and I firmly believe that this is a political issue.
