Which of the following is not a real programming language?
BASIC
C++
PASCAL
Assembly
FORTRAN
COBOL
Aren't they all ? I picked Basic as not a real language, is that right ?

They're all programming languages. But, telling them which one you think isn't says a lot about you. That's the point of the quiz -- no wrong answers, but what you do answer tells them about your nerd-level. I believe saying BASIC (since it's not compiled), Assembly (since it's so low-level), or COBOL (since it's so old) are the non-nerdy answers.
I chose C++ since I think it doesn't deserve to exist. If I had to choose on true merits and not opinions, I would say Assembly stretches the lines of a programming language the most.

I am not a nerd - I am a geek. I used to be a nerd, then I discovered the joys of... you know... wink wink nudge nudge.
Either way, I scored 75%.
Went to uni with more than a few code jockies. All would say that Basic isn't a real programming language for 2 reasons:
1. High level to the point of being detrimental
2. Geared towards hobbyist programmers or non-code jockies

Telnet/SSH are two protocols used for talking to other computers. Telnet is unencrypted (ie. a direct text connection between computers), while SSH is encrypted communication (therefore is almost universal nowadays). It means you can log in to a computer halfway around the world and use them just like you're right in front of them. I use them regularly at work, since, honestly, it's the only way to be in more than one place at once.
GPA means Grade Point Average, which is basically your grade in university, with 4.0 being an A, 3.0 being a B, 2.0 being a C, 1.0 being a D, and 0 being an F.
