This project only goes forward with Lucas, Spielberg and Ford's okay. So far Lucas and Spielberg have okayed the script just leaving Ford to read it.

I can't imagine Ford saying no (unless he's getting boring in his dotage) but what about rumours of Spielberg already getting into another Star Wars movie (despite having only just released Episode III)? With two movie commitments (according to the report), it seems more likely that Indie will be sidelined even with Ford's go-ahead.

Some people on IMDB suggest Viggo Mortenson.

Anyways, if it were up to me I wouldn't even consider doing an Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg until like 50 years after they're both dead. The Indiana Jones movies were period films anyways, so their potential shelf life is basically infinity. They will never need to be remade to fit the times. If they ever want to have more, they should wait a long long time to the point where young people think of Harrison Ford as I think of Gary Cooper; just someone I'm unfamiliar with (perish the thought, though ).

I agree with you whole-heartedly, Reisio. I couldn't see Indie being played by a muscle-bound dwarf with a speach impediment. If it isn't Ford, then it isn't Indie.
