Twitter is a LOT lighter than the MySpace and other FaceBook. |

I describe it kinda like IM meets a discussion board. You post things on your own time. Get responses sometimes almost immediately, and follow only who you want to. I tend to follow people in my industry and locals, and people I know. It keeps me in touch with them on a more regular basis. I wasn't using it too much either, but have found it very resourceful lately. |

For a while I read Robert Scoble a LOT ... http://scobleizer.com/ he was on to twitter right away but I never quite 'got it'...anyway Scobles pretty good at keeping you up to date on what's new and great... at least in his opinion .. bla bla bla..... via his shared items.... quote:

I have a Twitter account mainly to read the private Twitter streams of some of my friends and business associates and such... don't ask me why they're on it, but they're the only reason I am. |

I can't see myself "twittering" for any great length of time at this stage. Good link Petskull, the next one that popped up made me laugh too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlZcHwsa6CU |

Yeah I got started on this twittery business when a friend of mine that I was working on a project with sucked me into it. I was really skeptical at first, but it keeps my day going when it's slow, and I even get to follow Weird Al, and Mike J. Nelson of MST3K fame. |

I have, since being bugged to death by some people, set up a Facebook account. I don't post much to it as I still don't do anything that interesting. However, I have gotten back in touch with a lot of people that I haven't spoken with in a very long time. Kind of refreshing I guess. |

I am... I don't post anything much but enjoy following a couple of interesting guys (Aza Raskin, O'Reilly, Joel Spolsky, the Mashable guy Pete Cashmore) ? just to keep in the loop... I actually find some value in it personally; you don't always want to write a blog post on something, merely post a link or so, and this Twitter thing just does the job... |

I suppose I twit occasionally. I appreciate that it's a sort of micro update hotspot for a few things I never would have wanted e-mails for like the newest features being added to Blender, and what the president is doing today. Sort of neat... |

I'm on there - http://twitter.com/patrichard - but most of what I use it for is work/industry related stuff. The more personal stuff is on my Facebook page (along with my Twitter updates, since they automatically feed my Facebook account) |
