Alevice, thanks for trying to get new information into my dullard brain, by "shell" do you mean a programme? For I am as a mere tadpole in the sea of information technology. |

Yeah, that is what I kind of thought of stardock products. I used windowblinds long long ago and it was a hog, just checking to see if it had improved. I am looking more for productivity enhancements than eye candy anyway (well, maybe a little). |

Ramasex - Quick launch, huh? Well, don't really expect it to have something like that by default. The indie builds make you write everything by yourself, without the annoyance of already build themes that may just be purposeless for you. |

I have found that I really like the xfce4 window manager. I like to use Xemacs for all of my coding, with XMMS for my music listening needs. Thunderbird and Firebird (until Firefox makes it way to freebsd) make up my email and browser clients, Eterm for all of my terminal connection needs, and no open source desktop is complete with out using The Gimp to acquire the screen shot. |

If I had the money, this is the one monitor I'd buy. Just one would be enough for my needs, actually, more than enough. |

I've been toying around with alot of program launchers and I like them. I'm seriously considering using litestep or hoverdesk, although I've heard that once you install litestep, it's hard to undo it, so I'm hesitant. Anybody know the differences between the two? |

I'm on a desktop rampage now. I installed litestep, (which seems ok), the trial version of hoverdesk, (seems pretty good). But I found a couple of really good apps: objectdock and Y's Dock (discontinued). They are skinnable applauncher that are alot alike the macs OSX's dock launcher. Best of all it's free! Anyways, I found it useful. Tell me if you do also. |
