Limericks must have 9, 9, 5, 5, 9 syllables, I believe. Lines with same number of syllables must rhyme with each other. If you want to get really specific, I believe the stresses must be on syllables 2, 5, and 8 of the 9 syllable lines, and on syllable 2 of the 5 syllable lines. I'm not sure if that's all exactly correct. |
