It was once imparted to me that Grant Wood, the painter of American Gothic, said that when he needed to get inspiration for creativity, he would go milk a cow. The pause that refreshes, that gives him the rejuvination that he requires to do his wonderful paintings.

Well, I just went milking. And I saw things that offended me. I saw my actions, in the gruesome authority, and it pushed me somewhere that I didn't want to go -- self-deprication at its most grotesque level. I read through some of the things that I said, looked at some of the things I did, and I found that I wasn't the person that I was really wanting to be. The purposes were being skewed by my own self-righteous egoism and pride. Well, that needed to end. It took a swift kick in the pants from a dear friend of mine to remind me that I was being extremely egotistical, self-centered, and my purposes were being destroyed by my practices.

Those of you that know me can imagine how difficult this was for me to comprehend and apply to my life.

I apologize if I've offended anyone, and I ask that I can come back here, and wade through the pools of talent, imparting any wisdom that I can, learn from the experience that surrounds me, and socialise with you all again, as some of the dearest friends I have were found here, in the Asylum. I hope I can be forgiven.

Yours,

"twitch - never knew you, have never been offended by you, but i have, in my lurking times, benefited from your comments, and in my browsing times, loved your work.
i dont feel i have any right to deliver any sort of accepting or rewelcoming comments, but nonetheless, i hope i can benefit from your posts in the future."
warmed by the sense of community that threep senses once again in the asylum, he smiles, and carries on with his life.

I had been wrestling for some time with recent events. When I finally came up with my answers, thread got closed (I'm too lazy to e-mail).

This is what I came up with:
Twitch, your heart is in the right place, but you are lacking in execution.

In a nutshell, that's how I see (saw) it.

Cheers, bro. Time to get back to shaking the pillars of Heaven.

Welcome back, hope you enjoyed your rest. People get tired and cranky but not all apologize for their behavior when they were cranky. I gotta say I'm shocked at your humility, I would not have thought you had it in you. I'm glad you do. Welcome back.

Ahhh, whatever. It is with delight that I read your name again next to current posts. To hear your "voice" in the halls again.

Welcome back Twitch,

An inward look is always good, especially when it is an honest one.

You have a great passion and knowledge of the web, and you very obviously love to share that knowledge. I am glad that you chose not to stay away.

As Shiiizzzam said, it takes a lot of character, and a big man to do what you have done. As I already had great respect for your skill at what you do, what you have said here, increases my respect for you as a person 100 fold.

Welcome back!
