I opened a few old folders of stuff I've painted since day one and just about laughed myself silly. WoW how far I have come if I might say so myself. I mean I am not great or anything... keep in mind I am a PSP queen. I opened one gif and it was a girl standing in water with white diamond sparkles EVERYWHERE ! Back then water was the thing....a new filter that got waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over used. Every person I painted was standing in water. haha I started out in psp doing avatars for a paint shop in a chat place. People would come sit in the room aka shop and send you a guy/girl they wanted their name on and whatever else and you did it and sent it back for them to wear in chat rooms. The first time I went to one I sent my real pic to some guy and the whole time I waited...15 mins I guess...I thought... OMG...they must have some big stuff in their house to resize this and do all that LMAO ! Like I was thinking a room of huge stuff...I could just imagine him sliding around in his desk chair all over the room

Well that guy and his wife got me started.... after LOTS of long distance phone calls on omgggggggggggg how do I do that water stuff !?!?!? 2 weeks later I had my OWN paint shop

woooooo hooooooooo .... In all honesty ... it was a blast...and I met a lot of cool friends I still have to this day.

AND the funny part is .... I won banner after banner in contest !!!!!!!!!!!! LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I would share and see how some of you got started and maybe give you a smile about your own old stuff...if not...you can laugh at mine

Well, while Krets sure does inspire me to show some old stuff, I can't.

it's all gone away. Far, far away. Far far far away. A distant past. And stuff. heh

This never should have worked. I knew nothing about html and I did this almost 5 years ago.

edit> We all have to start some where, I guess. I still know little about html.

I wish I'd saved my old page. It was atrocious. I broke every rule in the book and I was a filter junkie. I'm okay now though. I've been on the wagon for several years.

I feel I`ve come quite a way, also. My first page ( Thankfully dead ) was once described by a wise man as * Something out of the mid 90`s with .edu at the end of the name. *

The latest iteration is pretty weird, too. Hey, I`m just like that. Deal with it.

On the PS front, I`d like to thank all here ( and The GN ) for helping bring he artist in me out of his coma. I missed him. It`s a long road to healthy, but we`re on the way. I mean, it`s cool to learn the tools, but you`ve taught me how to see things again. Thanks Mucho.

Ok, I`m gettin all misty now so here`s one of my first forays into Photoshop.

The more I learn about people, the more I like my computer.

*hangs head* (how times change) and my thanks also go out to all here at the asylum who have provided me with inspiration and much help

Jeez. Now I'm gonna have to go digging through my archives. No promises because I can't remember if I was archiving back then.

I admit that I am interested in seeing more old stuff from you folks.

well... maybe not.
um, that one was actually just the credits page for my website for a school project... so its SUPPOSED to be horrendously bright and icky. I've got my actual site sitting on a hard disk somewhere at home - ill upload it or screen cap it sometime."

I went looking for some of my old stuff. Couldn't really find anything. So I went cruising the web looking for sites that I have helped with.

I found this lady in my area that was doing web stuff. So I talked to her. After our first chat she handed me an account to work on for her. A one-inch thick file and one week to do it in. Yeah, right. So I worked like mad on it. Do you know what it's like trying to get a clean scan off of a glossy pamplet? And tons of other problems. I busted my fucking ass on it!

When the lady I was working for got her hands on it, she butchered the template(s) and the code. I was half expecting that. I didn't appreciate it, but I let it go. After all, I did get paid for what I had done.

But now I'm nauseous.

Some of my grahic work has survived. I'm thinking about e-mailing this guy and seeing if he wants a side-kick. Maybe I can change things for the better from the inside. Now if I can just find his e-mail in that mess.

my first stuff playin with PS3 back in 98. I made these 3 items and closed Photoshop never to open it again 'til version 5.0. I don't remember why. Forgot I had it maybe? I got busy? Whatever the case it hilarious and tacky, that's what we're all after here right? A train wreck?

Hmm, the oldest "image" of mine that I can locate right now is still available at http://www.ozones.com/FTP/images.jpegs/warning.jpeg - these were some mods from my first KodakCD, woo! The create date on this one is May 1, 1994. There was a few from this series, some of them might still be available with an image search on AOL, anyone able to check for me? (Saved under the name "drozone".) I also found a bunch of scanner art from 1993, (I remember that first AppleScanner, 16 colors, all grey! There's a bunch of things from back then, mostly intended for use as backgrounds for printed works, TIFFs to be imported into QuarkXpress, heh. It's kind of sad, I can't seem to find any of the original work done in PS2, these are all doen with PS3, the first really *revolutionary* new version, with layers! (I got excited when that happened. Here's about the oldest, unmodified page of mine I can find online, at http://www.ozones.com/oldlinks.html - view source and note the complete absence of a <body> tag, heh heh. (Who needed such a tag? It's not like you could specify anything in it!)

hehe. Thanks Jeni. I still shudder when I see the lensflare, although at the time I had the presence of mind to give it a source.
