I was messing around with 3D transform...and saw that if I made a spherical selection and rotated it the other side looked like a golf ball...so I put this together...I know the grass is really fakelooking...but I wasn't trying for good looking grass.

To much snot green there -rip-.The golfball could of been done easily in kpt3 without going through the trouble of using the 3d plugin. the fours has a weird blur on it I can explain why you did that one. -rip-

-rip--rip--rip--rip--rip--rip--ripppppppppppp-hehe

At least you try man.

seriously though, the detail in the ball is lost because it is so... white... the edges look like a good golf ball though.

Is ther ANY good use for the 3D transform though????? becides a golf ball?

I dunno...I suppose you could slap a blur of some sort to get a rendered look to something...

3D in a 2D programme. I like it.
Mow the grass.

Spray it with something.

The ball needs to through a shadow, I also recommend not blurring the word. Keep it crisp.

I never blurred it, the word is really just the same double gradient thing I did with my sig, but I fiddled with the contrast on it.

Well....*sigh* Here we go, Sloloem.

  • The green is too vibrant. I know you said the grass is fakelooking, but it is difficult to critique something when we're supposed to ignore the background...especially a background that makes my retinas burn.
  • The 'golf ball' itself is not a golf ball. it's a circle with some irregular shading on the edges. I see that, I don't think golf ball, I think mistake.
  • It's been said before, so I will say again: "Fore!"
  • The motion blur you've done looks nothing like a motion blur. Nothing that vibrantly white creates a black motion blur. I suggest using copies of the actual ball and fade them out and tweak them accordingly to achieve a motion blur.
  • My high school's colors were green and white. I have a deep-seeded fear of those colors in combination.
  • shudder

Okay, done.

You might try getting rid of the text and adding a shadow on the grass underneath to indicate that the ball is actually OVER the grass and not just flying by in front of a picture of grass.

Also, the grass appears blurred as if in motion. This would be fine, except it contradicts the motion of the ball.. the blur of the ball is going at an angle while the grass blur is going straight up and down. You may get a more realistic movement effect if you match the two blurs at least.

Finally, it is kinda hard to see the detail of the ball. I think it looks like a golfball, but if you up the contrast a bit, you may get a bit more definition on the ridges.

Good luck, and keep playing with it.

Just as "four" is "fore," "deep-seeded" is "deep-seated." Sorry, had to do it. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">
