Call me silly, but bys assuming that people found this board they also found the Hand-On tutorials yes? Well then why is it that so many people still ask really really simple questions that can easialy be answered in the tutes?

i open up a new blank peice of white papr (strip) and i want to put a picture on that. how about you just tell me, i lost the manual. or give me a link to the hands-on tutorial

Frankly, you're piss-poor attitude won't go over well with most people here.

Your comment.. about "losing" the manual is a clear indicator that you've aquired the program through some warez site.... which is another thing that won't go over well with people around here.

So, let me get this straight. You paid $400+ for a piece of software, and then misplaced the manual? I paid $40 for a copy of Tony Hawk 2 but I didn't just chuck out the box as soon as I got it installed.

Not only that. You didn't even look at the manual before you decided it wasn't useful to you anymore?

I mean, I can understand if you don't know the particulars of the gaussian blur tool because it's not found on, say, page 1 of the manual (or page 14 after the TOC and other stuff), but I'm pretty sure how to get a picture on the "strip", as you call it, is near the beginning of the manual.

Oh well. No worries though. I'm sure if you write to Adobe with your product registration number they'd be happy to send you a new manual ::cough::

Open whatever picture or pictures you want to use. Also, open a new file that will be your "strip."


Select the part of the pic you want on the "strip." Once you have the desired part selected go to Edit > Copy or just hit Ctrl + C.



Now go over to your "strip" and paste the selected portion of your picture into it. Do that with Edit > Paste or just use Ctrl + V.

Then, using the move tool, move the pic around until the desired portion is in the window....



I was just really bored and couldn't sleep so I went ahead and did this. Besides, it gave me a chance to stare at Angela. This has to be the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. If anyone knows her phone number, hook me up.

Next time, I'd try looking for some tuts or an online manual. Just don't insult our intelligence by saying you chucked the manual. But don't expect alot of sympathy from a group of people who have mostly paid for their copies.

Hey Guys,

First off, what is a warez? And second, woot is a saying from a danny divido movie where he is teaching an army class and they always say that. lol. you gys just to conclutions =] i wasnt trying to have an attitude, sorry if it sounded that way. And i did read some of the manual but i forgot about pictures. If you wanna know the truth, i was reading my manual on the beach and just left it there with my backpack. So don't yell at me =P. Thank you for your help though, i appreciate it. =]

You'll find that people here are more than willing to help, but we also have many people conme in here who don't want to work for this at all, and that really pisses most of us off.

It would benefit both you and us if you did a little looking around before asking vague questions about very basic operations (there's nothing wrong with no knowing basic functions.....but you need to try these things yourself first...)

Flamed on post one, what the hell is the asylum coming too, I am ashamed.

Follow the advice above, don't lose manuals, RTFM loses all effect if you do. Go to the adobe site, there is normally some form of help available there.

Next step is to go to the hands-on and then follow it up with a visit to the GN, and from there you should be well on your way towards a happy and productive life editing photos and creating art in your spare time. You might even find you like it and then go on from there, to spend thousands of hours working with it, and never putting it down.

I didn't think my first post was too nasty.... How did you find the asylum without knowing about Hands-On???? Have other paople done this too??? From what I can remembr of the 'Why did you join the Asylum' thred almost everyone here knew about Hands-On first....

If your really *lost* your manual you should contact abobe and buy another one, hell you paid heaps for the program, the manual's just small fry in comparasion.

On the other hand, the manual is the only reason to buy the program (err, besides morals and whatnot).

Come on now Wootmax...tell the truth...I know you didn't lose no manual. I bet the serial number's came on a sticky note too, lol. It's ok to let people know you are using a- quote "back-up" disc! Since you have nothing but the program I would go buy a book about PS (adobe photoshop).

Some people around here are really ahead of beginner's and will just talk way over your head just cause they can and you will find your post going from "your question" to a bunch of radical's want to compare there brain matter. Sit back and watch...I kinda get a kick out of it! Good luck Pirate Woo, Arrr mate!

Regarding warez... i had no idea what people were talking about ... then when i did... i thought the pronounciation was war-ezz as in juares... not until a friend came by and said..what the hell are you talkin' about? Now how stooopid is that! :-)

There's also help files that can help you quite a bit, assuming you chose to install them :P

Personally, I've never touched the manual, I learned everything I know from the 'net or just from monkeying around

And ummm... *cough* I guess it's technically not warez, my dad happened to have a couple copies floating around his work and a CD burner though...*cough*

Yeah, welcome wootmax. I was goin' to jump on ya, but I think that the others have done a pretty good job of it, so forget it. You can be very thankful that krets took a lot of time and patience to help you. I hope that you follow his advice.
To Warmage...look. When someone comes here for help (and for the company), and respects the advice from others, that's good (and they usually don't get jumped on). But...then there are others AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! Why do you come here, ask for help, then don't take the advice??!?? For those of us that come here to be helped and respect that advice, I just don't get such an attitude. When I get outta line and get smacked, then I deserved it, but to simply ignore the advice...I think I'll go back to my cell, 'cause I'm starting to rant and rave.
