OK, so I've been doing a little work on my curryburgers site. Basically I used a combination of CSS and table hacks to make it more browser friendly just for fun. My friends still all use IE but I am also kind of using this as an experimentation place. I know for sure the site looks the same in IE5.5 and NN6 but I don't have an older version of NN on my computer to test it with.

I believe (with Wead's help--thanks Wead) that the mouseovers should now work in both browsers. I could be wrong though, it has happened once or twice before.

Lemme know pwease!

I'm still using Mac IE 5 and it still gives me a blank screen. I'm not sure if you were trying to make it work with mac (just for fun) or not, but I thought I'd let you know.

haha Ooops. You are nutty taxon!

Does IE5 for the Mac have any ability to read CSS at all? I mean damn, all I used as far as CSS is two absolutely positioned divs with tables in them.

I can't seem to connect to ALA right now, but there's a great article in there (search through the old stuff) called "Why IE5/Mac Matters" or something to that regard.

Read that.

Then ask us what's wrong.

Ok, I read it. I'm still not quite sure why nothing shows up at all. I mean, *something* should show up shouldn't it? My HTML validates accept for a missing alt tag and the topmargin="0" and leftmargin="0" in the body tag...

Haven't had a chance to validate the CSS yet.

If ya give me a link to a site that you know uses CSS, I'll tell you if I have the same problem. I don't really understand what CSS are so I can't tell you.

Disaster in netscape 4.7. The font-family is not even defined and the divs' widths are jacked, beyond ugly, unreadable where the divs overlap.

goonight

Ooooh, NN4.7 is really messed up, I can also second the IE5 mac prob. In fact they both look like they are having the same probs. I really haven't gotten into the CSS stuff enough yet to see what's really wrong.

IE5 and NN6 on PC look great.

It also looks great with NN6 on the Mac.

Fixed the Mac IE5 problem thanks to twitch. Had an open <!-- in one of the Jscripts.

I CAN SEE IT!! Yeah. This is what I've been waiting for? *shrugs*

Seriously, the only thing I'd really like to see happen is to change the shadow on the burger. The grey bothers me. I want it the shadow to take on some of the bg color.
