I think that's because the site has been running so darn slow lately, I read some post somewhere that said that Webshaman gave up trying to send messages on the site. Well it seems to work okay in the morning anyway. Later in the day it seems like there must be more traffic or something.

And yes, the asylum is very slow from time to time.

Over the past year or so I have been evicted from my home twice, due to "redevelopment" and I've also been homeless for four months.
My online time is very limited atm, perhaps 7 days a month, a day here, a day there, so I hardly get any time to really contribute. You can bet your booty that the Asylum is one of the first places I visit when I can.
Now that I've got a new flat I hope to get connected there, but I can't get cable (Blueyonder) there yet, so my only other option is BT which is much more expensive.
Aaaanyways,
much like everything else in life, things go through cycles, rhythms, and I guess the same applies to the Asylum.

Not to mention the fact I don't even find energy/time for personal projects anymore... I hate that,

I manage to browse through the post here everyday, but don't have time for more than that. Even have problems to get more than an hour or two per week to work on my personal projects...

And World of Warcraft is taking its fair amount of time as well. Hopefully the addiction will calm down now that I'm finally max lvl, but who knows

My first child is on the way so lots of my time is spent with MD and prepping the home for the newcomer, we got a new puppy which has put certain demands on our time and I've managed to get sucked in World of Warcraft pretty well. I started my new career about a month ago and things are taking off with great fervor. I am now teaching the industry professionals in the software that I was using while I was still in the industry (that industry being architecture, the software being Autodesk's Revit Building). New job, New software, New curriculum, New baby, New puppy... Lots of work. Hopefully things will open up for me over the winter. I still pop in when I can so don't forget about me.

It's not just the forum, what's up with Doc's sites in general? I just realized how much of an idol he was to me back in the early days before the bubble when Netscape 2 introduced javascript and everyone was throwin down to see who could come up with the coolest DHTML. 3d blobular interfaces were the new thing and everyone was just figuring out how to slice images and clear the whitespace out of table cells.

Doc continued to push the limits until a few years ago when he just vanished. Is he still doing web design? Do any of these new up-and-comers know who he was?

Ah well, just a little nostalgia I guess.

Nice to see some familiar faces, I suppose. I guess a fair bit of us have gone our separate ways.

funny, Wolfen's 'slogan' is 'Wolfen stays in touch' now it fits perfectly with the topic.

I'm also still here, though really just managing to come back to "reality", heh. Funny, I look back what, 3-4 years? I've been somewhat "out of it" that whole time. First all the build-up to our move back to the US, then getting here (practically 2 years ago now!), 2 business startups, only the second one that was really any good. (Does everyone know that Malin and I opened a jewelry store? I doubt it!) Now I'm going through some major medical/dental work - an infection in my jaw required the removal of all my teeth (yes, all) and I'm in the midst of having everything replaced with titanium implants throughout. Soon I will be a cyborg, and maybe I'll get radio reception auto-magically!

Hey, it's Thanksgiving! Sometimes I'm not as thankful as I should be; I really have been blessed, over and over and over. Hope everyone here is having a great day!

Thanks for the update Doc. Reasonable to assume you lurk but it's always good to hear what's happening with you and Malin. If there is one thing that perhaps sticks out most, in what's left of my memory is somewhere on your site... you say 'I have good hands'... So a Jewelry store comes as no great surprise and the work is what one might expect from 'good hands.' =) I'm trying to design and then build some furniture...so when you have some spare time.... lol

I'm enduring something similar with 'teeth'... currently looking at lower 'snap-ons'... the snap is implanted... teeth snap in and out. But enough of that I don't want to ruin your turkey. =)

If we don't hear from you before 06 pops in... best of the season to you both... and a big thanks for this place.

Nice to see that you are still around Doc!
A real bummer on the infection though...

Oh just so you know, I was indeed contacted on the Alleato thing a couple of weeks back, couldn't take it myself but found a good local guy for it and she now has the help she needs.

Be well and hope to see more of you roaming the halls of the Asylum in the times to come
Cheers/Dan

Well considering I just found this place. I don't feel so bad for being lost.

I so wish I had found this site ages ago.

I so wish I had half the talent I see on this sight.

I'm hoping to find answers to questions I have about art and design and random moments of inspiration.

Hope you all will indulge a timid beginner.

I think I had an account over here that I was, at least almost, active with, about two years ago.
Thing is, Ive looked in the memberlist for all kinds of old aliases, and it was nowhere to be found, so appearently I used some old nick that Ive forgotten.

In may, this year (I think it was may), I made this account. It'll do, I guess. Although I lost my post count ;)

Anyhow, I guess Im mostly lurking, but now Ive began working on my website, along with some other web projects along with my friends, and I might post more also.

Thing is, by the looks of it, there are like, 10 active members or so nowadays, and there arent really that many interesting threads either.
Either its some weird server/script language I dont really know, or its U.S this or Religion that in philosophy forum.
Im not really a good thread starter either.

Take care everyone, and I'll try to come/post here more.
