Preserved Topic: Spare a thought for Shi

Hey,

On Saturday night, Shiiizzzam, was rushed to the Emergency Room of her local hospital. Shortly after she was transferred to one of the larger state hospitals, where she is now resting in ICU, listed as critical.

Shi is fighting an infection, a serious one.
For a while, she was... not good. Today she is stable and holding her own. She is a fighter.

Right now she needs your thoughts, prayers and words. If you know this girl, if you've ever met or spoken, then Shi has touched your life and you hers.

Her friends and family ask that if you can, please, leave a message for her in the comments areaof her journal, her email, or ICQ for us to pass on.

All messages will get to her and are much more than appreciated,

Actually she talked me through a very bad time.
So now i am feeling bad that i cannot visit her in hospital irl!

I just got an ICQ from Shiiizzzam's room mate. She said that Shi is showing some signs of recovery although she has had a very bad day.

They lost her and revived her around 2AM. She hasn't been doing well all day and then around 1pm she had a turn around and is doing much better. The room mate is getting ready to take the messages off the computer to Shi in about an hour.

I asked her to tell Shi that our thoughts and prayers are with her and we hope she gets better soon.

This is an utter shock. We love you shi...if you start seeing large hulking creatures next to you bed, people with mops and a bowl of pears, plus a whole roomful of straight jackets, know that we are there with you in spirit. fighting the fight with you. COme back to us Shi, and come back better.

They received a call a little after 2am that they had lost Shi but brought her back. Today she turned bad again. At around 1pm she took a complete turn for the better! She just ate food ! She is talking.

Shi wasnt awake this visit. They only get 10-15 minutes total on the even hour. She was upgraded to serious (which is good!) and they said shes been in and out but is improving. They've taped everyones notes and msg's up for her and the nurse promised she would read them to her when she wakes

We'll hear more in the morning =)

Shi, we never really had a conversation or anything - but I always loved your witty remarks and your wonderful sigs. Get better soon, we all miss you...

If anyone can post or privately email her hospital location, I think
flowers and a card would be appropriate.

Mornin,

Shi has been very confused. They say this is normal for a stay in ICU. Her family laughed it off saying she has always been confused. =)

She is still listed as serious today. This infection is a nasty one. Her chances are better. She did talk a lil at the 6am visit.. She looked better today.

Gifts, flowers and the like apparently cant be sent...yet, as :

"she cant have anything in icu at all. several have asked. once she goes to a room she can"

So we're all waiting. Once there is an address to send to, i'll post it here, or you can Q me for it.
she's not outa the woods, but shes going to okay.


Her family is really amazed out the out pouring of support and love all of you have for her. that really touched them.

I think Pretty much all infections can be deadly-

Meningitis is particularly bad because it's viral
and anitbiotics don't hit it. Staph/Strep is bad
cause it hit's hard real fast. TB is bad cause it
takes forever to "kill"...

lesson to all- don't take these things lightly...

Shi is now listed as stable ! She had grape juice and some Sprite and was bitching about being hungry and such. hehe She 'may' go in to a room later today or tomorrow. They said she still has a ways to go.

She really got emotional over all your msg's and kind words (tho she wasnt sure who the girl in the glasses was (........)). Msg's are still being delivered every couple hours and everything she receives from here means an awful lot to her.... =)

From Angel, her family, and her very closest of friends comes a sincere and heart felt thank you to everyone.

Shi has slept a lot today but did wake up and talk when they went in to see her. She hates icu and wants to come home. Her mom said the doctor checked her around lunch time and said if she continues to respond to the treatment she will be in a room later today.

Howdy,

Shi is really restless but they say that is normal for icu. Her doctor came while they were there and said she is stable. He will move her to a room later tonight and if she continues to do well we may be released by the weekend.

She is as weak as a kitten and will need to take things slow, but knowing Shi she wont so her roomies have vowed to make her (duct tape on standby).

She was more alert and really was very moved by all the posts and msg's. She would like to thank everyone for the prayers and support and love they showed her, and will do so herslf when she is back on her feet.

More news, tomorrow sometime.

They put Shi in a room this morning and she seems stronger today. If she doesnt run fever anymore she will get to come home tomorrow. She was up some today for a few minutes at the time. Her colour was a lot better. She must take it very slow and no jumping waves on her jet ski for sure heh.

Her family said that they've never seen anything like the support this groups has for her or each other. Her family and friends that came in to see her couldnt believe it. I pretty much feel the same way. You folks seriously do rock, and if i wasnt so knackered id spend a bit more time telling how much you guys rock heh, but i am so this will have to do : Thankyou

Okee so if theres anymore news or changes in her condition i'll letcha guys know, else the next thing you hear may be from Shi.

So anyways, under the circumstances it seems appropriate for me to skank off again and leave y'all to it. You guys are the best tho.

I just got home a few minutes ago. I wanted everyone to know I am ok. This will have to be short. I'm still tired from the trip home. Busy morning

But MOST of all to thank every single one of you for the love and support and prayers you gave me and my family through all of this. The notes and graphics and messages my room mate brought to me amazed me. That meant more than I know how to say in words.
