Guys, I got back from Barcelona, sick and exhausted through sheer intensity of work, and have been told that I'm going to Athens on Monday/Tuesday, "might be back Friday, maybe Saturday".

Suit's at the dry-cleaners, socks in the wash, and will-to-live slowly draining...

Athens will be a lot hotter than Barcelona, but the work should be a doddle - the kit-list is half as long and the conference is not quite so sophisticated. This time I'll remember to bring my swimming trunks!

Obviously, with all this going on I'm not around much in The Asylum, so it'll be at least another week before I re-join this game. My apologies once again.

Still, I can't complain that I don't get out much, eh?

You know I think we've just found a good idea for an Asylum Game

Play is just like any ordinary pong game but no versus anyone can join in and serve. I haven't thought up of alot of rules yet also who'd win??

I have a idea. Why don't we make serve 20 the last serve, have each participant pick one of their serves to put in the pot, then have eather a drawing or a vote for the winner based on what's in the pot. So, umm, is this a good or bad idea?

Hmmm another question. How we gonna pick the winner??? We can't just put our hands into imaginary pots filled with serves!!

I can make a script that generates random values, but requires multiple people to complete the drawing. But, eh, that was just a idea.

I got a better idea... this is pong no winners just creativity. Lets all go as scheduled and then on the 20th serve we each send in a serve from the last.

How's that?

Guess who's back.

Athens wasn't terribly warm for the first couple of days - overcast, windy, cold nights... The last day was blazing hot though - a powder-blue sky with neither a cloud in sight nor the slightest breeze.
The work was a doddle in comparison to the torturous schedule in Barcelona, but I still didn't get the chance to chill-out in the sun. We were forty kilometres (about twenty-five miles) south of Athens, so I didn't really get the chance to see much going on.

No more jetsetting for a little while - the client's next oversea's event is back in Barcelona in a few weeks. I'm glad of the return to the relative calm of my usual punishing schedule.

___I digress...___

I'm happy with the game plan.

Once we're done, I would like to re-post the images from the game into their own clean thread, in order, numbered and with artist's name. I would give it a title like "Pong Me - Abridged". lol

With everyone's permission, I have every image so far created, and I can post them all once we're done.

I don't think there should be a winner - I think this could be considered a friendly frenzy (manic melee)? It has been too unstructured to be a competition.

Who's serve is it next, anyway? I might take some time to finish my last image (maybe update it with elements of the latest serves) but this serve should be someone else's.

I think you've scared them all off, VelvetRose.

Just what are they, anyway? Rules or guidelines?

If they be rules, then we be breaking them already.

...so the question was still pertinent, whether breaking from the guidelines or having already discarded the established rules.

Sorry I've been very busy with my PC lately so I couldn't post. Anyways, good to see you back and hello new audience member ... oh and hi velvet rose! *ahem*

I seriously have no idea who's next. I can't go 'cos I'm busy fixin' my stupid PC *grumble grumble* it's either you WH or Z or anyone else who's interested (I think I've said that before).

Well whoever's next it's not me! Oh well no winners then lets just finish the game... by the way which serve are we on?!?!

I might be able to get a serve in, I first need to get the Photoshop 7 CD from my sister first and get some work done. This could be about a week, should give me time to think on what I'm going to do with it.

Um, Temps - could you show me where the Nokia logo is in serve 6? I certainly don't recall using one...

I've recently upgraded to Photoshop CS! That's as good an excuse as any to start working on my long-delayed post again. I plan to make some time for that during this week, but I wouldn't recommend holding your breath...

As for CS well I have the CD (don't tell anyone it's pirated ) but the freakin' serial for some weird and wacky and of course utterly bogus reason needs to be recharged every 30 days... ... ... ring a bell?? It says this serial has expired please acquire a new one... now that's not very nice, 30 bucks gone to waste!!

Now as for the game somebody please continue I can't no net at home or I would've. Just hurry before LaSun complains there are more words than pics...

Hi, and sorry once again for not producing a serve. My time is just not my own.

I'm currently standing in the opulent lower foyer of the Renaissance, Chancery Court Hotel, High Holburn, London.

Three days in a suit, on-site, and what am I doing? Looking after ONE sodding PC. I wouldn't mind being quite this bored, but they haven't even put me up in a hotel! This is a NASDAQ event for heaven's sake; I can't imagine the organisers being short of a few bob.

Thought I'd just let you know that I have actually been working on my serve - I'm trying to make more use of Photoshop's many functions in order to justify the aquisition of such a package, but I'm beginning to think that with my somewhat limited experience, PS-CS might be a bit of overkill.

Still, practice makes perfect, eh?
