bugs, in your post at 01-22-2002 12:03 AM in this thread you said:
A is male
B is male
C is female
and also somewhere in here you said, that they are all human.
so, A=Peter B=Paul C=Mary
argh. i have now so many details about this situation but still no clue why all this happens.
i have to figure out what Peter(A) died of.
so, more Qs:
is Peter having an illness of any kind?
are all characters about the same age?
is Peter attracted by Mary and viceversa? (are they betraying Paul)

GRUMBLE,
Sorry we did establish all the sexes and that they're all human.
A=Peter
B=Paul
C=Mary
"is Peter having an illness of any kind?" Yes
"are all characters about the same age?" Yes
"is Peter attracted by Mary and viceversa? (are they betraying Paul)" Peter(A) and Mary(C) are husband and wife. There was no romantic involvement between Paul(B) and Mary(C).

Here's what we know:
Peter(A):
- human male
- fell to his knees due to some sort of medical problem or illness
- husband of Mary(C)
- after reaching into a drawer to shoot Paul(B) in the, he dies
Paul(B):
- human male
- was on his way to attack Mary(C)
- before he could attack her, he is shot in the leg by Peter(A)
- Paul(B) did *nothing* to harm or cause Peter(A) to die
Mary(C):
- wife of Peter(A)
- she has no idea anything is happening, she is in another part of the house.
There is no family relation between any of these people.
There is no romantic issue between them other than Peter and Mary are married.
GRUMBLE had asked if there was a *physical* fight between Peter and Paul before Paul turns to attack Mary. There was not a "physical" fight between them. They were discussing something *very* relevant to the solution before Paul turned to attack Mary.
Hints: It would be very good to find out what Peter and Paul were "discussing". It would also help to know what they do for a living.

Were they talkin about C?
Were they talkin about wills? if so is B a lawyer, and A knew he was dying so he had no reason not to shoot a lawyer?
Did A know he was dying?
Was Money involved?

Okay, do A and B work together (the peter, paul and mary thing is more confusing to me)?
Does A work with C?
Does B work with C?
Does A work in a professional field (doctor, lawyer, etc.)?
Does B work in a professional field?
Does C work in a professional field?

Paul(B) was not Mary(C)'s ex-husband.
Peter(A) having a stroke is close enough, he had a heart attack.
They are all middle aged.
"do A and B work together" Yes
"Does A work with C?" No
"Does B work with C?" No
"Does A work in a professional field (doctor, lawyer, etc.)?" Yes, knowing which one is important.

Slime said, "I think A said to B, 'please go and attack my wife', so he did, and then as a practical joke, his last one before he died, A shot him in the leg." No. It's crucial to know what A and B were discussing.

Now we're getting somewhere. The game is afoot, Watson.
Are A/B doctors?
Are A/B lawyers?
If A/B are doctors, is A B's doctor, or vice versa?
Also, are they in a hospital?
B was shot with a pistol, i.e. a handgun, correct?

My post was just a joke anyway =)
Hey, wait, I bet B was telling A a conundrum, and A was so confused by it that he had a heart attack, and since he wanted his wife at least to survive, he shot B in the leg before he had a chance to tell it to C!
(Another joke, because i really can't figure this out =)

"Also, are they in a hospital?" No
"B was shot with a pistol, i.e. a handgun, correct?" Correct
"Was the discusion mostly about C?" No
"somewhere inbetwixt?" That's probably the closest way of looking at it.
"Does their location matter?" No
InSiDeR, there's no need to hurt people Peter, Paul, & Mary or A, B, & C makes no diff to me.
bunchapixels, we have established that Peter(A) was dying of a naturally occurring heart attack.
And I would have to guess "responsibility".

bugs: hmm... responsibility doesn't fit as well as the 'real' answers...
and did B tell A something new about C?
is there anything unusual about C?
are A and B medical doctors? are they general practicioners? specialists?
does InSiDeR know how to ask a close-ended question?
oh, and a few more for those who give up on bug's:
riddle b2:
a man lies dead next to a rock.
explain.
riddle b3 (apparently true):
a man lies dead, in the forest, in a wetsuit.
explain.

I know the rock one but I'll let someone else answer.
I haven't heard the wetsuit one so I think he was a scuba diver and ran out of air and settled in a forest of kelp.

God Damnit Nimraw & Morph, I hate school, I always miss answering the easy ones when I am at school. There was a fire in the forest and a helicopter was sweeping water from a near by lake to dump, the man was scuba-diving and was accidentally dropped in the fire. And yes, the guy was in his coffen not yet barried lying next to his tombstone.
Bug yes you should give hints because I seem to be the only one figuring things out just kidding, but I did find out about the heart attack! Thats important you know!
