hmmm, sounds plausable, Grumble but didn't someone say A intended to shoot B in the leg? the only reason I can think of for this is when A collapsed and grabbed his gun he shot B from under the desk and could only see his legs

A intentionally shot B in the leg. He could have killed him if he wanted but chose only to injure him.

"if A wouldnt have got the heart attack, C would have been killed" Incorrect. If A did not have the heart attack, C would NOT have been killed. As it happens even with the heart attack C was saved by A's actions.

bugs you are confusing me. is there even a sensefull explanaition for that situation.

The solution is not only sensible but it is completely plausible. This is my all time favorite conundrum precisely because I remember what it was like the first time I tried to solve it with some friends several years ago.

The key to solving this is to find out *exactly* what the two psychiatrists were arguing about. Remember they were having a gentlemanly debate about a hypothetical situation that is related to their field of expertise.

Hint: They decided to settle their debate once and for all.

They aren't hypnotherapists debating whether you could hypnotise someone to kill someone else are they? A hypnotises B who goes off to murder C causing A to have a heart attack but he gets a gun and shoots B breaking B out of their hypnotic state.

I think I may have A and B mixed up but something like that? Perhaps B also hypnotised A to have the heart attack in a hypnotherapist's stare down!!

F I N A L L Y ! ! ! Emps that's it!!! Yeaaaahhhhh!!!

A and B were disagreeing on whether a hypnotized person would actually carry through with a murder. They decided to conduct an experiment where A would hypnotize B to go and murder C. Of course, A would be right there to snap B out of the hypnosis as soon as it became clear he was going to do the deed. But just as B turns to go attack C, A begins to suffer a fatal heart attack and realizes the only way to save his wife and not kill his friend is to shoot him in the leg.

That was fun
